How much money does the Advocate make?

Just passed their nice arse building off of Siegen (for the millionth time) with their big electronic sign advertising their Ida coverage.
Obviously, newspapers are not the way that people get their news anymore, but I didn’t think their online coverage was all that much.
How are local outlets making any money?

They built all that stuff before Trump broke the media's brains and they went insane. They were doing better back when they moved there from Bluebonnet.

Most of their profit comes from throwing unwanted papers in my yard it would seem.

There is no way they are profitable

Funded by other larger media conglomerates and PAC’s

All I know is that they were asking for donations for the writers last year.

NOLA billionaire John Georges bought it about 10 years ago for a song, and runs it as a hobby.

Better than getting your info from next door.

There's no way they are making a profit to spew that swill.
Here is at least one grant they received to stay afloat and continue to spread their Marxist propaganda:
Ford Foundation Grant
Eta, their desperate attempts to get people to subscribe to that garbage have been a miserable and embarrassing failure. They can barely give it away.

The Advocate is a tool. John Georges gets power ( and probably money ) to report the way “ special interest “ would like. This technique is as old as civilization.

In this particular case
The way it works is your families Gas distribution companies cover all operating costs.
Basically, George’s case He bought a megaphone/ influencer type of investment..is what the Advocate is.
It generates money of ad revenue, clicks etc... but not what it used to.

Used to love reading the paper. I canceled my lifelong subscription to that piece of shite two years ago and will never read it again.

They are not spending money on journalists and editors. My 7th graders write better than these hacks.

Newspapers don't make a lot of money. A lot of them are owned by bigger conglomerates that offer other services and products than just newspapers so those bigger conglomerates can offset the bleeding from the papers.
The real value the newspapers have is narrative engineering and propaganda pushing.

If they make a dime, it’s too much.

Arguably not much better.

Newspapers were quite profitable at one time, but those days are long gone.
