Never lost one. Dropped one in the canal at the old pump station right near the old myrtle grove launch, but was able to fish it out shortly after.

Same here. I only fish with one rod at a time and it's in my hands when I'm using it, so none have been hit so hard as to rip it out of my hands.

Now, when I fish for cats on the Mississippi River I will use 3 rods spaced about 10 ft. apart. They are all either placed in those pole holders that are driven into the soil or lodged between large pieces of concrete rip-rap so no cats can run with them.

One…I was 13 fishing in the harbor in Pascagoula, MS. Had an under the table job as a dish washer and a local bar and grill close enough to the house I could ride my bike to. Saved up my money over the summer and bought my first Abu Garcia Ambassador, rode my bike to harbor and tossed out a line. Had it leaning on the piling while helping my little brother with the cast net and when I looked back up it was gone. I waded around in the water for about an hour and when I was walking back in I stepped on a line pulled it up and it was connected to my rod. Got back on the dock and reeled in about a 3 lb hardhead but boy I was proud of that fish!!

Kicked one off my one man BPS Bass Buggy when I was 11 o 12 years old, went straight down in 40' of water, sad day in my young days. Worse yet when I was maybe 16 I had graduated up to being able to run our 16' Roughneck bass boat on the lake where we spent our weekends. I launched it when we hit the lake one Friday evening and I had 5 or 6 rods on the bottom of the boat and while running to our dock, I hit a wake and the extra 6 gal metal fuel tank bounced over and snapped 4 of my rods, I wasn't the same for a while lol. Pretty much everything I had was from working my butt off to get, loaded a bunch of hay to be able to afford a couple of those Bass Pro Boron rods. Haven't lost a rod in the 40+ years since although I have snapped several while fishing including brand new Sarge earlier this year, it was covered under warranty.

One.
Catching specks with my dad and grandpa. I was mostly taking fish off for them but I tossed a fish in the box and went to step up to the front deck and completely ate shite. Landed on my arse and must’ve flown my pole into the water. My dad and grandpa laugh at least once a week about it. I was sore for two or three days.

Only 3. 1 by Seabrook bridge; it just slipped out of my hands as i fricked up a hookset. 2 others over the reefs a half mile from Navarre Beach when my kayak flipped...barely survived that day.

I once threw the anchor overboard. It was attached to nothing. It's gone.

I’ve been lucky, never lost a rod. But I did lose a Buck Cadet 303 my in HS my dad gave me for my 12th birthday. Was fishing a pond with a buddy in a John boat. Had my knife on top of a tackle box on a bench seat. He leaned to the side and “bloop” the knife was gone.

Told my dad about it and he bought me another one for Christmas the next year. I’m 52 and still have it.

I lost one off the dock once, but jumped in and got it, fish was still on. I've never lost one permanently, and never off the boat.
