Have been looking at trucks the past week or so, and all of the new 1/2 ton trucks come with a baby bed. There is no way for me to even fit my toolbox in there because the fender wells are too close to the damn cab. Toolbox is approximately 1.5ft wide. That would only give me 4ft of bed space even if I could fit it. Because of that, I am having to look at extended cab trucks. Shitty because I drive with a gangster lean and the back seat is useless afterwards, but it looks like the way I am going since I dont want to have another note and they are cheaper.

Can you even put a 4 wheeler back there? What do you do with your tools? Can you fit a shovel in the back?

Basically this

and this

vs this (the two I am looking at)

and this

I just bought a crew cab long bed for use at work. I have a toolbox and a fuel tank in it and have as much room as those short beds.

You may be able to find a crew cab long bed in the 1/2 tons. Not sure though.

Found one, but it was brand new and $48k. I have a F250 CC right now, but really have no use for a bigger truck anymore and the 1/2 ton long bed trucks are VERY few and far between, I mean I haven't seen any for sale in the country with lower miles

I'm looking to spend <$27k so I wont have a truck note anymore

I have a F150 Supercrew with short box and haven't had trouble hauling anything.

I have an over the rail toolbox as well.

You wax fit a wheeler with the tailgate down.

I was going to get a 1/2 ton because I don't pull bigger loads very often. But the tiny trunk like bed made me go with a 3/4.

Just soon get a Tahoe than a 1/2 ton truck now.

The one I just bought is a 3/4 ton crew cab long bed 4x4 with the 6.0L gas motor and I paid just over that amount for it brand new.

Had one w/ a 5.5 bed. Never again.

6.5 works well, 8 would he too much w/ a crew cab for everyday use, probably.

Exactly.

They sell them though, so I guess someone has a use for it.

IIRC, my CC F250 is around 24ft long give or take a foot. It is the perfect sized cab and the perfect sized bed since I didn't tow campers or have a transfer tank. Sadly, that hunk of junk is getting traded in as soon as it gets out of the shop

The two I am looking at now are the silver 07 ext cab Z71 with 57k for $19.5k and that black 08 ext cab Z71 with the 6.0 amd 71k miles for $23k. Both are SLT, and that 07 is freaking immaculate. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing though

I wish I could find a CC 1/2 ton with a long bed, but it seems like it would have to be special ordered. My roommate has a F150 with the 6.5ft bed, but that is the only one I have ever seen in my life

I have a 5.5' bed and can fit the four wheeler in the bed but can't close the tailgate. When I had my tailgate stolen I still could fit it in the back but the tires were resting on the the bumper so I couldn't haul it anywhere. No toolbox though.

Just bought a 2014 GMC 1/2 ton crew cab with standard bed which is in between the short and long bed. Other than price this sounds like what you are looking for.

I have a 1/2 ton with a 6' 6" bed(just measured it, thought it was shorter) with a 30" deep box that is backed off the front bed frame 4" and I can and have hauled a lot with some pre thought involved. It works for me cause I hate driving the longer trucks, I like the car feel with the truck usage.
