I’m trying to get ideas for house plans for a ridgetop lot, very narrow. Does anyone know of any high-end Louisiana neighborhoods with narrow lots and front-loading garages that I could get some ideas from?

Most I know of are garage in the rear with "alley access". Seems like a waste to take up the front of an already narrow facade with a garage.

I really don’t have any other choice with this lot.

How narrow are you talking? Two car I'm assuming? My honest opinion is that if you don't love the lot there's no way I'd put the effort into a custom build. Too much work for something you don't love.

Like how high end?

Terra Bella in Covington seems to match that style.

Or the Village in Covington.

Terra Bella is around $500k more or less.

The village is just south of $400k

If I do a front loading garage, I could probably do a 45’ wide house. Right now I’m looking at a 2 car garage and a 2 car dettached garage.

There's one of these neighborhoods in Thibodaux - Acadia Woods. 400k homes that you have to turn sideways to walk between.

Email Scwtig @ gmail. I've designed a few front loading "garden" homes and built a few houses in subdivisions with narrow lots. If you've got a survey you can supply, we can look at your wishes and produce code compliant plans to get you started.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions. The lot is in a very nice spacious and hilly subdivision. I just bought one of the last lots on a ridgetop, knowing it would be a challenging project. There are fairly steep wooded hills on each side of the ridge, with a lake at the bottom. I think it would have to be a garden home style, but you won’t be able to see any neighbors. I’d definitely want to take advantage of the views and design the house around the lot.

River Ranch in Lafayette, if you like western-style living on a ranch.

Need lot dimensions here for a better answer. But based off your original post I would look at River Ranch in Lafayette or Willow Grove in Baton Rouge. Both of these have houses on narrow arse lots. Some with ally access in rear and J load in front. Both are very high end.

You will want to get an Architect involved with this as Im sure you are aware.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I've put a link to an image of the lot to give you an idea of the layout. Please let me know if that does not work. The approximate depth of the longer red line is 167'. The approximate length of the shorter red line is 70'. That's the usable area of the lot. The sides of the ridge are steep wooded slopes; cutting down the ridge would not result in any significant gain in width.
