This morning I brought my fathers zero turn mower to my property to mow. Within the first 5 minutes of being on it I drove it into the barbed wire fence. A combination of things cause this 1. Not know what the he’ll I was doing(first time I ever drove a zero turn 2. Going too fast and 3. Going to fast

I was driving along the fence when the the black plastic guard caught the fence at the same time I tapped the wrong control arm and did a 90 degree turn into the fence. My legs and stomach were pinned against the mower by the barbed wire. Painful.

I have had one about two years, they take some getting used to.

They take some getting used to. Glad you weren’t hurt any worse than that.

It begs to be asked, if your property is big enough to need a zero turn mower, why not get use to how it handles AWAY from a barb wire fence to get the feel for the thing???

Just seems more logical to me to do it that way. Guess you just like to live on the wild side.

Could have been worse. The fence could have been an electric one.

I seen some people flip them.

Best advice turn down throttle and away from everything. Just play around with it.

Kind of similar to walking with a grocery cart. Go back strait push back. Go forward push both forward. Turn right use the left lever more.

I put my riding mower in the shop for service and they gave me a loaner zero turn a few years ago.
It was very hard to get used to. Knocked my AC unit off it’s concrete pad.
Then, I was cutting next to the street while the light a few houses down was red. This guy on a motorbike got on it pretty hard as the light turned green and I was a little out in the road. I panicked and hit the wrong lever and knocked my cast aluminum mailbox over onto my driveway right as this guy went by. It shattered like glass into a million pieces. The look on his face

It's not how fast you mow, it's how well you mow fast.

I actually did this. Just for a minute. Hahaha
Probably should have practiced longer.

When I bought my zero turn, the dealer asked me if I wanted to test drive it. I said no.

Got it out in the open when it was delivered. I did not want to be laughed at. That was 18 years ago.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago when I was mowing in the opposite direction I usually do and clipped a very expensive antique pot and knocked it into my brick wall. Cracked the shite out of it. I waited a couple of days to confess to my wife.

Just dropping in to be the butthole saying driving a zero turn seems the most natural thing in the world to me.

Now watch I put mine in the ditch next week.

Are you people retarded? It’s not rocket science. It takes no getting used to at all. The only thing on a zero turn that requires any kind of skill is holding your beer with one hand while controlling both handles with the other

I don't understand how driving a zero turn is so hard for some people

It's just:
Forward
Reverse
Left
Right

The only problem I can see people having is making divets in the yard when you turn. Even that's not hard to figure out
