That looks like the infamous goggle chinqa sac a perch gill that my pappy talked about

I legit see goggle eye, chinquapin, and sac a lait in that fish

Pretty. "Ear" looks wrong, but I can't call it a long eared either. Probably a lot of variation in the sunfish.

Toledo bend has them. Caught one and thought it was a funky looking longeared sunfish and had to do some searches

MS has some spectacular bream in its larger clear water creeks and rivers. Some of them are straight up neon orange.

Maybe longeared sunfish. A male in it's breeding colors in clear water is beautiful

I don't bream fish now but those are some weird looking fish compared to the ones I grew up catching.

My Dad calls those "pretty boy floyds". Can be tearing up a bream hole, catch a floyd, hole goes to shite.
