Yes. We fill out the form 4? All you do is sign it + a duplicate and fill out a citizenship form + a duplicate. We put everything in an envelope and give it to you to mail off. All you do is add 2 copies of your trust and a $200 check

Pretty sure the stuff he is going after isn't the cause of these shootings. Mental health, stolen guns, and being a POS contributes more.

Do you think it's still worth forming a trust, given this new news? I have sons, if that makes a difference as far as trying to make sure they can have whatever I have.

Absolutely, there are many reasons to go the trust route.

41p is such garbage. On the up side there is no CLEO signature required now. But hey, we keep losing inches...gonna be a mile soon.

It seemed when I read everything that they will consider all trustees as a "Responsible party."

Do I have to register as a dealer or pay a tax if my gun is stolen out of my truck?

Most probably. However, with all revocable trust, they can be amended on the fly and the ATF has stated that this is still legal. So, strip the trust down, file the form, load the trust back up with trustees. *Unless something changes between now and then.*

They will. All trustees must file a form 4 with pics and prints with every transfer/purchase.
Read up on a bill introduced by an Arizona rep. H.R.3799 (the Hearing Protection Act). If signed would remove suppressors from the NFA list and would refund any tax stamp paid for after Oct. 22, 2015. It has been submitted to the House Ways and Means & the Judiciary committees (both of which are republican controlled). As of Dec 18th the bill is cosponsored by 41 representatives, including 1 dem. from Oregon.

Would that be those receiving SS based on mental health issues?
They are implying that the trigger is if a representative payee is appointed - typically your primary caregiver if the claimant has an inability to handle his/her own financial affairs or has a (non-material) history of drug or alcohol abuse.

I read something somewhere that you'd only have to do that every 2 years.

I think that is correct. This is the actual language:
quote:
§ 479.63 Identification of applicant.
Two properly completed FBI Forms FD-258 (Fingerprint Card) for each responsible
person. The fingerprints must be clear for accurate classification and should be taken by
someone properly equipped to take them.
( c) If the applicant entity has had an application approved as a maker or transferee within
the preceding 24 months, and there has been no change to the documentation previously
provided, the entity may provide a certification that the information has not been changed since
the prior approval and shall identify the application for which the documentation had been
submitted by form number, serial number, and date approved.

This seems like a stupid question, and I haven't been able to read much on it. But I heard about the fingerprints and pictures and I also heard something about trusts grandfathered in.
Will existing trusts have to send in photos and fingerprints every two years or is this only for trusts that are created/trusts that purchase class 3 items after this action goes into effect.
If I have a trust that doesn't purchase any new class 3 items after this goes into effect, will I have to provide pictures/fingerprints?
Side note: Has anyone used one of the shotgun suppressors? I has a want.

No you will not. That is directly addressed in the "Department Response" section. It was considered but ultimately realized it is beyond the scope of authority of the ATF to regulate Trusts in that manner. Per the response, ATF only has the authority to evaluate "applicants" not ongoing Trusts or Trustees. Their initial idea was to have any new trustee of a trust that owned an NFA item to have pics/prints/info submitted within 30 days for a background check; that did not make it into the final rule.
