Thinking about getting this, along Ranger Deluxe engraved. Always wanted a lever action rifle in a caliber I could kill deer with. Thoughts?

Shooting a lever action just feels really freakin' cool.

I watched some guys shooting it free standing online and it didn’t look that bad surprisingly. Hickok handled it easily

Beautiful gun. If you want it, go for it. Never touched a Henry I didn’t like.

Just bought this one in .357mag couple weeks ago. Just wanted it for some reason. Hope to take a deer or two with it as well.

Since NO reason is also a very acceptable reason to get a gun, yours is bonafide.

Why do hunters use more bolt action versus lever action?

Two reasons really. One, bolt actions are generallly more accurate, and two, alot easier to find bolt actions in higher calibers

I have a browning .308 lever action. Shot a 250 lbs hog with it dropped in tracks. Love the gun. I'd say grab it and have fun John Wayne MOFO!

Accuracy but your average whitetail hunter would never be able to tell the difference.

I am thinking a Henry lever action will be my next purchase. I purchased a Henry single shot last year for deer hunting and I just like the way Henry's look and feel. Mine also shoots straight.

Yep. It is drilled and tapped to add a scope. But would need full base and mount rings to add

After working at a gun range for 3 years, I can absolutely confirm that is a 100% accurate statement.
The deer in Louisiana have greater chances of being struck by lightning than a bullet.
