Have we turned a corner (at least temporarily) on ammo?

Did some searches on Ammoseek and 223/556 and 9mm were as low as I've seen them in a while. And you didn't have to buy massive bulk deals to get the lowest available prices either. A lot of it for 223/556 was steel but for 9mm there were plenty of brass options for about 50 cents a round. These are as low as I've seen prices and as available I've seen things in a while. I haven't been going into stores as much because I just wasn't able to get as much with store limits as was worth it and what I needed/wanted was barely in stock the times I'd go in on delivery day anyway.

Have things settled down a little bit or am I misjudging things?

because they are about to take your guns away, so they no longer need to create ammo shortages to restrict your gun rights by having no ammo

Probably for those who are looking only for 5.56 and 9mm at less than massively inflated prices.

Yes, for those who are looking for other calibers, handloading components and reasonable prices on the limited ammo that is available. Since the "shortage" started, I've yet to see any primers, powder or 22LR and have seen VERY, VERY few bullets.

It's still double what I got used to paying for range rounds. I'd order at least three boxes online when shipping was free, and get it for $11 or $12 a box. Even McKinney Honda, here in Ruston, always had the CCI Blazer Brass for less than $14 a box. Some guys on here used to complain if they had to pay $10 a box. Good to know it's not $50 a box.

I didn't mean back to normal. I meant starting to settle down or start to drop. I assume it'll be years if ever prices are back to what they were pre Covid/Biden's term.

Walmart had some .22LR, mini mag, and magnum bullets today.

Last week they had about 2 cases of Remington golden .22LR

I’ve gotten very lucky lately and have picked up almost 1000rds in the last month just by doing the academy runs. Got 200rds of cci hollow points and they had the Winchester hollow point varmint rounds last week.

I saw 270 at academy for the first time in ages on Tuesday.

Remington has cranked back up. Maybe that’ll help.

What a dumb fricking comment. If you don't have ammo and there is some available, buy it. It's what available.

I stop in at the two Academy’s in my area every few days. 9mm, 22lr, and 308 have been more available lately albeit a two box limit. 357 and 38spl are still nowhere.

Honestly, I’m not sure what it was *before*.

But this is what I just paid at sgammo.

What did 308 (7.62x51) ball ammo used to go for? I keep seeing it at places like Walmart and Atwoods and the like but it's they're selling it for like $1.10-ish/rd.

Not sure but the cheapest brass 20x boxes I find are always about $22. Doesn’t matter the brand or what store. I don’t mind steel except the indoor range doesn’t allow it.

When you show me a box of large rifle primers, in stock, for less than $200 then I’ll believe we’ve turned the corner.
