They’ve been deep inside on the east side of the river for a few weeks now

I haven't been in a while, but I heard it's not as good as it was years ago. It's more brackish/freshwater now than it once was.

Think further in unless you are looking for 11" trout.

Don't know the specific area mentioned, but anything typically brackish is likely salty as hell right now.

Very salty. Bievenue has salt in some areas you could probably find frogs a year ago

Not sure about the Leeville area, but we have been doing very well at Big Lake.

I imagine the specks are there as well.

I am headed down next week with the kids. They up north in LC yet? We haven't done much good on trout in years.

We live in TX now but family lives on the Calcasieu. Come down and fish probably 12-15 trips a year. Have not had more than 15 keeper trout in my boat in one day in probably 10 years.

Birds have been picking in LC past week but buddy ran a 5 boat from casino Thursday and it was slim. Mostly short fish under them, very different year than previous years. Chalking it up to salinity levels being off the charts 20 ppt at I10.
Turners has heated up the past week but bird activity has been poor.

Thanks. Hopefully they hold up and we can get on them. Birds working in LC and Prien around Thanksgiving used to lead to lots of big girls.

We have done so poorly at Big Lake this last few years I would be ecstatic with like 3 Flounders, 5 keeper specks, and a rat red.

There were 30 boats in Turners this past weekend lol. We went elsewhere and got our limit. Birds weren’t staying up very long, but we would pick off a few here and there. Early bite was really good then slowed down. Artificials weren’t working, had to go to live shrimp. Look for moving tide. Good luck

You don’t need birds to find trout this time of year. We fished port sulphur on Saturday. Caught lots of unders but still managed limits with a few 17-20”. All on artificial. Caught a few decent slot reds too. Had to get away from the bullreds who would crash the trout parties.
