What, you never watch late night TV with the half hour show about buying knives by the lot. They get these 2 goobers on telling you how much money you'll save buying odd lots of knives by the dozens.

I've got to admit, some of those knives look damn good, but not being able to actually hold them and feel how they work and inspect them closely, I'd not buy them.

I haven't purchased a knife in about 6 months, but Knifeworks and Cutlery Shoppe are almost always the cheapest. Cutlery Shoppe offers free shipping, which usually made them the cheapest overall. Also, Blade HQ has a fantastic selection and are priced competitively. You can check out Amazon as well, but be careful if the deal is too good. There are definitely Chinese knock-offs on the site.

ETA-Looks like Knifeworks and Blade HQ offer free shipping on orders over $99 as well. If you're a Louisiana fella, and you're ordering a Benchmade, seems like Knifeworks is your best bet.

Several have offered up the most popular so pick the knife you want, use a search engine and figure out your best price. Make sure you include shipping and tax.
Optics Planet is another good choice and I often use them as their service is great and price is right.

Now I’m trying to decide between a 940 or a 485 axis

I much prefer a thin knife to carry. I have a 530 which is really thin. Carry it most every day.

I love my 943. The kershaw shallot is even thinner and i like that its a flipper and has assisted opening. Also, the clip is positioned where you can carry tip down in your pocket.

There used to be a good knife store in the new mall next to the Piccadilly. I was always a fan of the survivial knifes...
