Hate to hear that man. I never leave my truck unlocked. A few people, including family, down my road have gotten hit up in the last year because they leave their vehicles unlocked. My ole powpow had a revolver stolen from under his truck seat. One idiot has gotten hit three times. Fortunately they caught some of the culprits the last time because they dropped a cell phone in one of the vehicles.

I caught some idiots breaking into our cars at a house party at our own house when I was younger. One fricker had my CD case sticking out of his jacket. I asked him if it was his. He said yes. It had my uncle's company's name printed on the damn thing

Don't take this the wrong way but this is stupid. No place is safe from a car thief. It could be neighborhood kids it could be an outsider.
If you don't lock your doors you are borderline retarded.

Same. And I can't go to sleep without having done it.
Those that leave their doors unlocked, stuff in the car to be stolen, etc. don't only invite crime upon themselves, but they invite it on their neighbors, as well.
It is Crime Time right now. Schools are letting out and wayward yutes have nothing better to do except steal shite. It's not right, but that's the way it is.
LOCK IT UP.

My situation is a little different, as I own a Jeep, but I never lock the doors. I'd hate it either way, but I would rather a thief open the door and pillage around in there, realize there is nothing valuable, and move on, than cut the $450 soft top windows, pillage around, realize there is nothing valuabe, and move on. I have a steel console in there that I lock up the radio face and any guns that were not lost in the great boating accident of 2015. Plus it is in my garage at night.
On the other hand, a few years ago I apparently took the trash out one night and forgot to close the garage door. Sat wide open all night long. I only realized it the next morning when I went to leave for work and it was 40 degrees down there. Happened around December or January. I was honestly surprised nothing was missing.

They don't like cold weather much.

Does no one park in their garage?

Had it happen to me, they got my computer bag with my work laptop and all my notes, my credit cards were strewn all over my front seat, and they never made it to my gun in the console. Detective said they were likely spooked when they were going through my wallet and took off.
Terrible feeling.

That's the targets bro. Lock everything. Criminals will drive a little to get nice things. We had a spree around Christmas in my neighborhood.

My shite has been broken into maybe 4-5 times in the 17 years that I've been driving. I have been so fricking lucky that they've never stolen my bookbag full of $200+ books and supplies. Maybe thieves have some form of compassion
Had my aluminum toolbox broken into. They used a prybar to open it. Got a steel RKI, and it would be too much of a hassle for them to try it now. Also have an aftermarket alarm with a bump sensor and a glass break sensor. The truck alarm goes off, and the key fob also makes an alarm sound.
I also have a driveway alarm and a motion camera. Driveway alarm makes a loud arse sound that wakes both me and the dog up. Motion camera sends a text to my phone immediately after it senses motion. That combo gave me enough time to grab a pistol and almost get a perp once. I suggest yall look into those
Guardline driveway alarm
Car alarm is a Viper

My work truck is so nasty a thief would barf up his supper if he went in it.

I don't even look at someone opening an unlocked door and stealing things as a break-in. Maybe it's because I lived in Dallas for 27 years and had someone take something out of an unlocked car in the mid 80's.
If it wasn't for d*ckheads like you, there wouldn't be any thievery.

Opiate crisis has led to a lot of folks stealing, no neighborhood or town is immune from it.

I saw on ND that the thieves hit up back to back nights. Need to catch these thugs
