I'm looking at getting a portable setup with a hang on tree stand and some climbing sticks.

I already have 2 Summit Vipers but looking for something a little lighter and easier to carry/move around the woods with.

What is the OB's recommendations?

OOAL Hush stand with Shikars

Or if no budget, LWCG 0.5 and double steps

Or Beast stand and sticks

I used a millennium m7 microlite and tethrd one sticks together in Missouri and that’s a pretty legit setup. The only downfall to the stand is the bracket that ratchets to the tree is kind of heavy and hard to get positioned where you want it. I wish the stand had a button and cam buckle strap instead. I used rubber gear ties to fasten the sticks to the stand, which worked out well. The total weight was around 10 pounds.

I've transitioned to a saddle. I have some Lone Wolf Minis and a Lone Wolf Assassin I'd be willing to part with. Assassin stand comes with quick-hang hook and the Molle backpack straps already attached. Upgraded seat to an XOP padded seat. I still have the original batwing upper standoff for the stand. I'll post pics if I can find some

Stand - Novix Helo. I had an Echo and it was a little big.

Sticks - take your pick. I have some bastardized Hawk helium, Muddys, Leverage, and a Skikar Mini for one sticking. If I were to buy a set I think I would buy the Out On A Limb FXDs. I like the bar stock vs tube and I like the fixed steps.

I have 4 sets of the 20” hawk helium sticks and they all have one step amsteel aiders. I have never had any problems with them at all. I use a saddle now after trying the smaller portable lock ons. Just never felt really balanced or solid on the lock ons (bow hunting). The saddle really is solid and I feel secure and safe in it. If you do get hawk sticks, trim the lip on the female suction cup with a razor blade. That will prevent them from getting stuck together too tight.

I agree 100% with this. I have the same sticks with amsteel aiders. Rogers has them for $100 I think for 4 sticks. I use a saddle also.

I have some shikar fxd sticks I really like for sticks.

I’m about to buy a hang on and I’ll either get the hush or lwcg .5 I’ve messed with both and like both. I wouldn’t get the .5 without the taller seat post. The fit and finish on the lwcg is better but both will get the job done and the price on the hush is way better

I have a M7 and lone wolf sticks. Love the setup as it’s lightweight and easy to setup. As said earlier the millenium receiver isn’t the best, but I’ve dealt with a lot worst. Trying to currently get another stand just because I’m retarded and can’t ever stop tinkering or wanting to try something new. I’d like a new LWCG, but can’t see my self spending over $500 on a stand.

I put a versa button on mine. Made it much easier to use imo

I almost bought one during the sales but didn’t know you could do that. It just bolts on?

There's a lot of YouTube videos on how to do it. I put a batwing and drilled through the hook and ran a bolt through. Put a spacer and a washer as a ghetto versa button.
