My buddy walked outside this morning and an 8 point was running a doe in his pasture. He runs back in grabs his rifle, props up across the roof of his wife’s car and blows a hole in it.

Years ago I put a hole in the top of the bed of a 2005 Z71 using it as a prop.

My wife would be mad as hell if I did something like that to her car.

Because he laid his rifle on the roof, and was just looking through his scope.

I've seen holes in the hood of a truck, but not the roof. How do you even repair that?

He said his pasture slopes down and he aimed to low. Could see the deer in the scope but not the car roof.

Bore axis vs line of sight is my guess.

We have a big label on our shooting table that says do not move closer than 25 yards to berm.

Yep. As we used to say on the M1A2 Abrams main battle tank, you have to unmask the gun tube. Just because the gunner's primary sight is unmasked, doesn't mean the gun tube is.

I’ve saw this on hood of trucks before. Never car roof. That’s impressive. Ha ha.

What year was the car prolly needed another year either way. He should put that oh shite handle on a plaque!!

Couple years ago buddy from work shot across the bed of his truck at a doe two times and she never flinched. Went and looked for blood or any kind of sign and upon walking back to his truck saw the holes and started fussing his kids and FIL for shooting the truck. An then it hit him what he had done.

Oh, heck yeah. I think I would take it out of town to have it fixed though.

I had a friend propped up on 1 side of the bed of his truck about to shoot a hole in the other side. He was strictly looking thru the scope with the barrel aimed at the other side until I stopped him. Would have been some funny shite.

Customize it with Aluminum foil tape. Might even get a premium on a trade in.

(From the guy that had to order new parts for his chronograph.)
