Knife with replaceable blades. Moved to this a few years ago and it's just so much easier.

I have a Havalon and love it. The only downside is you have to be careful because it's ridiculously sharp.

Recently ordered a DMT diamond stone.

Replaceable blades and electrical sharpeners are great but I personally feel I need the skill/ability to sharpen knives and the like as to be ready for the apocalypse.

Whetstone. Once you get the stroke down, its therapeutic.

Not this.^
I have the same Outdoor Edge w/ gutting blade. It's really nice. I kinda feel guilty just popping in a new blade for it instead of spending all the time manually sharpening a knife blade, but the "guilt" doesn't last long. The Havalon I have is an older and smaller one and it's nice, but I don't think any of the Havalon's are as sturdy as the Outdoor Edge. The stub that the Outdoor Edge blade attaches to is much bigger than is the Havalon's stub. Having said that, my Havalon is my favorite squirrel skinning knife.

Lansky makes a great knife sharpener. 5 different sharpening stones. It will shave the hair off of your arm. I have 3 fillet knives to clean fish because the only drawback is that it takes a few minutes to sharpen a knife.

I’m not claiming to be cool, but I am able to put an arm hair shaving edge on my knives though, anywhere any time.
