Looking for a 30-06 bolt gun and looked at a Tikka T3 the other night.

In its price range, it's a fine option (some on here really swear by them), but I don't find it to be head and shoulders above other similarly priced bolt action rifles. It will be more accurate than you are capable of being and is a great entry-level bolt action that can take a beating. However, if you're looking for an heirloom quality gun, a really beautifully crafted gun, or a gun with top of the line fit and finish, you're barking up the wrong tree. If you're looking for something to kill deer and not have to worry too much about bumping it or scratching it, then you've found a great option.

ETA: For just a little more money, I would get a Browning X-Bolt, but that's just me.

Very smooth accurate gun. Hard to beat for the price. I picked up the Tikka T3 .270 WSM last July and love it.

Same one I got, nice gun.

I dont deer hunt enough to worry about having anything too crazy, so I figured the T3 was the best "bang for buck" gun.

if jesus was a hunter and not a carpenter, he would have used a tikka.

Listen to this...it's gospel.

Got my Tikka Hunter 270wsm two years ago after looking at MANY rifles. I wouldn't want a different rifle.

Well, maybe a Sako.

Out of the box as good as they come, will be sub moa accurate, with an adjustable glass rod trigger that can be adjusted to 2 pounds with an Allen wrench. Throw away the rings that come with it and pair it with good rings and good glass and you are set

Now if you are wanting to do a lot of work on a gun and get a new trigger and all kind of custom shite go with a rem 700, way more choices

If you are looking for beautiful wood and a nice piece of furniture look elsewhere

I have 2 t3 and my buddy has 3 of them, could not be happier

Lot of people hate them just because they are popular, but they are popular for a good reason

Are you looking at the tikka T3 lite?

I oicked up ine last year and like it. I hunt deer maybe 5 times a year so i just bought an entry level bolt action that i don't have to worry about beating up.

If money is the issue, spending less on a good gun, to be able to spend more on a better scope, might be a better route to go.

Chuck Norris designed the Tikka T3 on a demand from God, and made it so. It's kill rate rivals that of the AK-47.

I own one, so the above statements are true, it's awesome.

I hate detachable mag's, so I will never own this rifle. 1. It's just something to loose. 2. You have to remove the mag to load/unload the gun. It's just annoying.

If you are looking for a heirloom quality at a reasonable price, check out the ER Shaw rifles. His Mark VII is semi custom built on a savage action and they are really great guns for the money. They cost about as much as the higher end X Bolts do but they are essentially built to specs you want.
