Any intel on Grand Isle state park? Everything I see online says they are still closed from hurricane damage.

Any idea on status or progress or expected reopening?

No time soon is the word. Hopefully all the crackheads moved out so they can start repairs.

I saw a similar question asked recently on one of those Grand Isle Facebook groups and a few clowns were of the opinion that since the people housed there are residents of Grand Isle that park should belong to them, and they shouldn't have any sort of time table on when they need to leave and should be allowed to live there permanently if they so choose.

Anyway, is Bridgeside still leasing RV spots on a summer long type deal?

Oh yeah, I haven’t seen this years prices but last year it was 700-1000 a month IIRC.

It seems like the park is never going to reopen. I don't think it will happen this year, for sure. They don't seem to be making any plans for it either.

One of the residents said there are only 30 campers left. I don't think the residents are the reason it's closed, I don't think they have done any cleanup from the storm, supposedly it's not safe. Coming up on 2 years, seems like they could have done something by now.

Bridgeside has spots, but I would imagine it's getting pretty booked. There are a few others now if they are full. Though, none of them are on the water.

I may look into going that route then, some of the nightly rates on places down there is insane.

Sarah’s seaside oasis which is the old extreme RV is now opened on da beach side. They’re working on making it nice and has big plans included a pool.

I was told it is under FEMA contract, and the state can't do anything with it until that ends. I'm not a lawyer, i have no idea if that's true. I can tell you i was there 2 weeks ago and nothing has been done yet. I will be extremly saddened if it doesn't re-open.

She was talking about all the big plans in grand isle. I asked her what she meant and a she basically replied "a pool".

Which, I'm sure is very nice if you're staying at the trailer park, but it doesn't move the needle for me.

She also mentioned a park or something in fourchon. First I've heard of it.

Prices down there are retarded. All the cheap places like Ricky's and Breakers are long gone.

Bruh. I literally slept in my truck Saturday night in bridgesides parking lot because I'm not paying $150 per night to sleep in the trash that is Grand isle lodging.

Why go to Sarahs when Tropical Motel has a nice pool full of needles and meth. What else could you need?

Was wondering this myself. From the replies it sounds like I might not be going back there for a great while. Kids might be adults before then.

Was hoping for a mid week crabbing trip a few times this year. Guess I'll have to research another location.

Bridgeside, sun and sand, and blue dolphin are still pretty affordable. $125-150
