Has anyone been fishing lately in GI. Any luck with the trout?

Had a guided trip out of GI this past Sunday that we canceled after long conversation with guide...fish are just not in in-shore waters around the island yet. We spent the weekend on the Island and had a great time, just didn’t fish. Oysters from Carmardelle were stellar, large shrimp from Blanchards were previously flash frozen and rather disappointing.

Last Sunday was a slow early morning bite East of Leeville. Bite turned on 10ish AM. 18 nice trout in 30 mins before running out of live shrmp. Live shrimp was the bait , couldn’t find a bite with anything else. But yes trout are in transit moving out

This past week the trout exploded all around the island, a lot of topwater and suspended bait action. And the way people are acting right now you should just about have the water to yourself.

Every launch I've passed by in the past week has been absolutely full of vehicles.

Are the bait shops open? I assume I could bank fish and not run afoul of Johnny Law.

Wish I could go find out. Gas is below $2.00, but with the way business is, I can't afford to go.

Sand Dollar was like a ghost town this weekend. I tried to buy live shrimp Friday around 4pm and they were closed. I called Bridgeside and they didn't have any live shrimp Friday. I didn't try again Sat or Sunday. It was windy and the water was really dirty this weekend. Good to hear some people were catching.
