Me too. But it won't happen. My investigating officer is a lazy POS. I had a good talk with his supervisor yesterday actually.
What ammo are you shooting?

Quality control on the Kimber rifles are not the same as their pistols. They are known for producing inconsistent rifles. Some are .25 MOA, some are 25 MOA. I believe it stems bfrom their pencil thin barrel though. But for $800 it's worth it just to find out. If its not something that you are happy with, sell the gun for $500 and the scope to me for $301 and youll make money.

Good to know.
The guy selling it is the type that has to buy something different every year, so I know it's been taken care of. He swears its a tack driver, and he's not one to BS a lot. If it turns out to be a lemon though, I might take you up on the scope deal.

I mean I'm not knocking it by any means. They make some great rifles. But for the price they cost and with their reputation, there should be very little problems if any. For the price he is selling it at, buy it in a heartbeat. Chances are it will be one of the best store bought rifles you've shot. But I did want to throw my findings and opinion out there.
Regardless of their rifles, I will continue to buy their pistols as long as I can afford them.

+1
I'm almost certain he ordered it straight from Kimber FWIW...

I honestly don't really think it matters where one buys a gun from. It's kind of like buying a PS3 at Walmart, best buy, or newegg. They all get made the same. However, it certainly don't hurt it either.
What are the specs on the Leopuld?

3x9x50 I believe is what he told me. The adjustable turret has gotten me more than interested. It's a $500 scope easy...

They are great fun to play with. I currently do not own one with an adjustable turret but shoot one of my friends or FIL every time I go to the range. Given that I am no where near proficient with it, I would never use one hunting. I use mildots on a couple of my scopes and the BRX on my Swaro. I find them easier and quicker. Not that I've even had to use those really.
I would love to setup a bench gun with turrets and fine tune my long shot though.

That's what he did with this one. He says with a competent rangefinder, it is $.
Back to the OP: I think I've decided to get another T/C and add this bad boy to the arsenal as a concealed carry piece. Behold:
Kimber 1911 "Ultra Covert II"

Well you just threw a kink into my thought process, good sir.

Just get you a winchester model 70 in a .308 and enjoy life!

Can't go wrong with that decision. However, I prefer the "pro" size over the ultras. Not much weight savings with the ultra, it's a but smaller than the pro, but has a higher ftf percentage.
I know that a CCW does not have to shoot 10,000 rounds without jamming but I have yet to shoot an ultra that I would be comfortable carrying. It could have been the two guns or it could have been the ammo. But the only pro size I've shot was on par with my full size. All were Kimbers.

I carry a Kimber 4inch I had some work done to it but I LOVE it

Way too plain-not enough stuff on that rifle.

I love my 5" Custom II. What 4" model do you have? What work have you done to yours? I am about to retire my 5" and buy another. It is the 100 year anniversary of them being invented and would make a good graduation gift for my son, way in the future.

I have the kimber ultra carry II
this was at 50 yards last week. A few of these shots were from my F&N 5.7 I didnt think I had any chance hitting it but i got lucky this was sitting elbows on the bench not standing. I am shocked how accurate that thing is.
