X Bolt?
I loved the A bolt. Mine was stainless synthetic and had a Nikon Monarch 2.5x10x40 on it. It brought the heat and was fairly accurate.

I just recently purchased a X-bolt. Their magazines are indeed made out of plastic but it's a plastic polymer. The same material can be found in Glocks and Tikka T3 hunting rifles. Those magazines have a good track record and I assume the Brownings mags will have the same reliability.
Mine is a 300 WSM and I have had no problems with it.

A little off topic, but have you ever messed with a Tikka? I started using one this year, but next year im going back to my Remington. I cant get my finger in the chamber to puch my bullet down into the magazine. The slot is too small, and i have to eject the shell and put it into the magazine manually.

I have a 300 wsm xbolt medallion. I like. Mag release hit the box stand and dropped the mag out while I tried to get a second shot off, but it may have been a freak accident. I LOVE the bolt throw. I would get another.

Get a Savage 116 300 win mag put a nice Bell & Carlson stock on it. You'll have a better looking and shooting gun than a Browning or Remington for about the same money. Well the Savage is probably a better shooter out of the box anyway, then put a Zeiss Conquest 3-12x56 on it... No wait, don't do any of that. I want mine to be unique. Go get a Browning like all your frat bros... As for the TC get it in a 375 h&h. You won't feel the recoil in the field, and it shoots almost as flat as a 300. Might as well do it right if you want to be a baller.

This sounds intriguing. I've yet to shoot any of the new Savages, but I've heard really good things about the trigger and accuracy out of the box... The 375 seems like it might be a little overkill for what I'd be using it for, though.
