My dad shoots .06 cor lokts out of his BAR with outstanding accuracy. My 700 in same caliber won't shoot them worth a shite. Went with Barnes Tripple Shocks in my 300wsm and they are outstanding. Very expensive though.

You're the first person I've heard of that had a rifle that wouldn't shoot corelockts well an did shoot something else well. They shoot very well in everything I've owned. I've just had some issues with them not exiting.

I still don't see what's so ugly about it. Looks like a rifle

I switched to Nosler partitions and it made a large improvement. It didn't tighten the grouping 6"s or anything but a very noticeable difference.

You're right. There's just nothing "good looking" about it. Some rifles just have that look to them, and this one doesn't. Nothing wrong with that though, I suppose. It just looks like a rifle.

Yeah, I hear ya. I try to keep mine looking purrty. Granted, before mine got jacked, I kind of babied the Browning, and it was the one I'd use in the shoot house, and the T/C was the one I toted around in the woods since it was shorter and easier to handle.

I baby my powpow's old shotgun to an extent, but the rest all have nicks and dings. I used to baby my tikka before I sold it though.

Wuff To each his own, though. If it's driving tacks the way you say it does then looks aren't that important...
I told y'all it was ugly. I'm not even going to attempt to deny that. I also said I bought it knowing I was going to do something different about the stock... But it is a tack driver.

I don't baby any of my guns, but I don't throw them around like they're firewood either. If I know my gun will be in the bed of a truck or the bottom of a boat I put it in a floating case. To OP I'd replace with what was stolen sounds like good guns plus you mentioned other Encore barrels as well. If I had a .308 barrel I wouldn't get the 7mm-08 barrel a deer will never know the difference and there's a much larger selection of .308 ammo available.

A coworker of mine has a Kimber .300 wsm he wants to sell that has a Leupold w/ the adjustable turret. He wants $800 for it, and it's every bit of a $1500 setup. I haven't seen it yet, but it's another one I'm considering.

I probably don't treat firewood, like firewood

I got an 870 Wingmaster for graduation 1986, the first year Remchokes were introduced. It still looks new albeit I haven't used it much since I got my SBE.
