This is the first year I'm noticing numerous fruit flies in my kitchen and living room. I have no rotten food no rotten trash etc etc yet it seems the hotter it gets the more I get inside. They are some aggravating little shits. What can I do to get rid of these things once and for all?! Thanks fellas

They make traps. You can make your own, Google is your friend.

Also, keep your sinks clean with bleach.

Terminix makes a product you spray in your drains . Helps immensely . That is where they breed . Evil little shits ....

Does anyone remember in the 1980's when the Mediterranean Fruit Fly was going to be the end of the world??

They make this stuff called Purge, which comes in a small can which fits in an auto sprayer. Get it at a restaurant supply store or a commercial cleaning products store. You can also get the auto sprayer or just spray it yourself like every 15 minutes, one or two sprays, into the air in your kitchen and living room. Over the course of about three days, they will be wiped out. Also bleach your sink drain every night. That's how commercial kitchens do it.

And get an electric fly swatted from Harbot Freight and zap as many as you can. Zapping small bugs is fun.

I bought some glue traps with fruit scent on them that worked pretty well...

you can also just get a can of bengal roach spray and spray down any plants that you have inside to kill most of them...

409 kills them or any flying insect just as good as anything. If you get lemon scented your wife will think you're cleaning rather than having epic fruit fly shoot outs.

I've done the red wine, and also put a small amount of vinegar in it, works well. But I keep drinking the wine myself. An epic battle of cheap wine, killing flies, and fighting hangovers.

Garbage disposal - go to bed bath and beyond or order online - Plink Disposal Cleaner and Deodorizer, it seemed to get rid of our fruit fly problem...

Had this problem last year and they are a pain to get rid of. Putting apple cider vinegar and over ripe fruit in a tall glass, placing plastic wrap over the top and poking small holes it worked pretty well. It attracts the flies and they can't get back out.

Apple Cider Vinegar works well here.

I keep a jar on my counter during the spring/summer and it fills up with those little bastards.

I do this as well but also put in a little liquid dish soap, works like a charm
