Thanks guys! Ive been searching like crazy, but I cannot find anything in the news or internet to confirm this, only family.
One of his coworkers posted something on his fb status last night, and I was sorta in shock, so I sent him a message and he said that it was true but no details can be released yet, I guess bc he is LEO, not sure?!? I know its true though, bc his wife and sister have now also confirmed it on FB.
Will post more details as I find out. Not sure where it happened, or how, though.
He was a Lafayette Police Officer, 29 years old.

Damn. Those props are SO sharp, but still...had to have been a direct hit on an artery. Even though nothing indicates alcohol was a factor, the WLF reaction will be to step up stops on the entire Amite and Tickfaw basins to prevent this freak accident from happening again. Heading to the camp, so I'll be able to verify if my hunch is correct.

So a boat passes too close, cuts line, he jumps in to get anchor and gets hit by his boat or another when he came up?
Prayers sent always sucks to lose someone when it was so avoidable

So two people died on Maurepas yesterday in separate incidents?

Stacy, sorry for you loss. Bad things happen on the water, even to experienced people.
I was just working on some paperwork in my office and watched a guy pulling two girls ~10 years old on a tube in front of the house. The boat driver was slinging the girls back and forth on the Diversion and threw both out of the tube in front of the house. Lots of traffic today and choppy waters is not the place for what he was doing and made me think of this thread. I hope they all make it home safe. More than likely his actions are due to ignorance, but still…

Sorry for your loss. Was he hit by another boat or his own prop?

Prayers go out to every single person family / friends involved...

That looks like a different accident.
From what I gather from people that were out there, the prop hit a main artery in his leg. (the guy Stacy is talking about). Sad shite... It was yesterday too, not today.

sorry for your loss
Way too many people lose their lives on that lake and it's rivers. Seems like we are constantly hearing about accidents this time of year.
