You guys are worried about your wrists. I would worry about turning my forehead into a canoe.

I bought this one at an auction several years back for $195 if I remember correctly. I wound up selling to a friend that wanted a handgun. It was no fun shooting it at all.

I like big, obnoxious guns but that is just painful.

That is a 686 right?

2 3/4" barrel

That is no problem to shoot compared to that hog off a gun in the OP. I used to own that exact 686 in that barrel length. 38spcl was easy and comfortable to shoot, 357 was a little snappy but not too bad.

That 44 mag is downright uncomfortable

No. That's a 44 mag. I forgot the model number. I think it's a 29, tho.

Everytime I shot it, it was like someone slapping your hand as hard as they can.

ETA. the pic I posted does not do that gun justice. That thing is a hoss.

I would love to be able to understand this concept.
I have a couple of WWII German handguns that are NIB. Hopefully they are appreciating at least a little bit as they sit quietly in my gun safe.

Buying a gun like this is more of an investment than anything else. I see no problem with it being is a safe unused.

S&W 340 PD

Skip to the 3:45 mark. I have shot one of these with 158Gr 357 mag rounds. I shot it 5 times and will never do it again. It only weighs 10 OZS. The video really doesn't give you a full appreciation for how bad the recoil is on the gun.

This is Hickok shooting a three inch 629.

Would not be too fun to shoot with full magnum loads , but you can always keep it loaded with 44 specials for everyday use.

If you can find them, 44 Specials in a 29 aren't too bad at all. (Not like a magnum would buck anyway.) However anything magnum in a 2 1/2"-3" gun is going to be bad.

It would be cool to light off some buffalo bore +p+ at night with that thing.

The fire will probably get to the target before the bullet.
