Man you could pick up those boots for $5 a pair at Kmart. You could leave them turned upside down between the truck bed and cab no one would take them. They were simple and worked.
You could also jump start a manual transmission small truck or car if the battery was dead if you had friends to push the vehicle.

Does no one sell 2 door small trucks anymore? I just looked at my local dealers and I wasn't able to find a GMC, Chevy, or Toyota 2 door small truck?
My old neighbor had a 2 door tacoma probably a 2009 model or whatever, stick shift I'm pretty sure. He was a retired school teacher about 65, but I bet that truck out lives him.

You have to get out of Metro areas and look at a larger dealer that sales to a rural population. The mfg do not make much money on them.
I bought 4 for farm workers and I got lucky and found a few left at a dealer who bought them for a pest control company and they backed out of the deal. The reason I wanted the is the bed is longer than 4-door bed. No rebate on them so the price is not far from 4 - door model.

A guy in my family had a tractor with a burnt up starter and he couldn't get a replacement. He just parked it on top the hill when he was done. When he needed it again he'd get it rolling down the hill and it'd start
Nobody ever talks about what he did when it didn't start the first time

I dont think there are any single cab compacts built anymore, at least by GM, Ford, and Toyota....maybe Nissan makes one?
ETA - Checked, no Nissan either.

I swear I looked like a year ago and you could get a 2 door F150 for like $18k I almost bought one for a work truck. I just looked and the cheapest was MSRP $30k? Lol, how is that possible when you can find 4 doors for low $30s? I know $30k was MSRP but still. Maybe I was way off on price.
I assumed you could get a basic stick 2 door F150 for $18-19k and the basic 2 door Rangers would be mid teens. Dang.

Yeah they make 2 door for fleet vehicles.
I found mine as I was picking up some fleet vehicles for my home centers.
I went back to the lot where they keep the fleet trucks and they had some small 4x2 single cab trucks that a pest control backed out of. Guy said they were keeping them for a meter reading company which buys them also. I said how much if I wanted all 4 he gave me a price and I bought them. Good for guys to run around and pickup small stuff, vinyl floor, no frills, and good work truck.

Think a guy could get a 4x4?

You can get an extended cab with 6 foot bed in the Colorado. 4x2 for $22k
And you can get a 4x2 Access cab Tacoma for $26k. You won't see these on the lots, and will likely have to order one, but they are available. Too many people want to treat a pickup like an SUV with a small bed in the back these days. That is what sells.

I got Chevy Colorado’s 4 cyl and paid alittle less than $22k since I bought 4. It is base package truck.
Look at Nissan and it does not ride as well even though they are $19k.

Can you not buy absolute base like ford focus' for mid to high teens? Pretty sure that's what the ford transits go for? Seems crazy they couldn't sell a very basic compact truck with a 4 cal manual for mid teens.
