Now the Master-no-baiter is rambling on about some crap he found about DU encouragint clarification on baiting laws in regard to ratoon rice.

Of course, he's overreaching and claiming there is nothing in it that says flooding corn is ok. There's also nothing in it that says it's not ok.

Anyone ever notice how he switches back and forth between his own profile and the Flyway Federation profile when posting at times? Weird.

Get yall popcorn. The piss poor duck hunters in the fed are going to be blaming everything except their skills or shite lease for low kill numbers tomorrow.

Something I never see discussed, but have always wondered about. Why is Arkansas artificially flooding timber and acorn flats not considered manipulation? Typical river flooding occurs during the spring as snow and ice melts, not the beginning of fall when it's freezing back over.

So I just got sent this via text. This can't be real. Tell me it's not real.

Lmao! This shite just gets better and better. As if that doesn't happen in Louisiana, and it's definitely simulating the natural flooding of those flats if not for the severe degradation of hydrology in river systems caused by human manipulation.

...... but they won't mention or discuss what we are doing here/not doing here that is affecting our hunting...... you know... focusing on things we can actually do something about..

It means more than bitching on a Facebook page about what people up north are doing when we have our own problems that need addressing down here.

Goins can flaunt his "assistance" to Canada all he wants, but I bet Canadian politics aren't as political as American politics. The lobby machines will get to work and squash any unorganized attempt to change the regulations.

I have a hard time believing that There will be enough money behind this effort to actually effect change.

But yeah, keep thinking this is good for the "Sportsman's Paradise". I bet half of those guys hunt deer over corn without a second thought to whether that is ethical or not. They are only concerned with fair chase issues that negatively affect them. Every damn one of them would be hunting over corn if they lived in Missouri, without a second thought for anyone south of them.

It's unfortunate that Goins has taken to cyber tyranny, straw-manning every person who questions his logic, and then banning them. He is a motivated guy and has a lot of energy to try to get things done but I'm pretty sure the angle he is taking is going to get him nowhere. It's imperative to have people who are willing to put in work for the sport, but I do not like the conspiracy angle he is trying to spin in regards to Larry Reynolds as if he is some sort of double agent for DU.

I believe in the theory that a fair number of ducks are being short-stopped. We will never change that. That is only one factor though, of a handful of other contributing factors that are all actually conceivably changeable.

Here's one: if you want Pas a Loutre to hold 20 fold the number of ducks next year that it has had for the past several years, ban surface drives completely (currently they are banned after 2 pm which does not help). I have no problems and actually encourage SD's on private land, you do you, but on public land, surface drives just became a problem that most of us never imagined. The marked difference in the number of birds on pas a loutre wma vs Delta NWR is not some anecdotal BS suggestion,,, it's undeniable evidence of the effect that those boats (and the overall hunting pressure they allow) have on a population of birds in an area. Those two areas are separated by a mere 3 miles and have the same terrain and vegetation, only one difference is surface drives aren't allowed on Delta NWR.
For some anecdotal BS... we used to hunt a public nwr back in 07 with a huge pond, half public half private, same pond. The private guys used SD's and you could see how tore up their section of the pond was. No veg. Clumps everywhere, just frickin ugly. We had so much wigeon grass it was hard to paddle. Those guys struggled and we consistently put straps of 3-4 man limits together, and close enough to hear them yell at their dogs. To be fair they hunted out of their boat and it looked like a hot dog stand in the middle of the marsh so I think if they would have just hid their boat somewhere and got down in the marsh they would have done better. That pond has since been turned into a bombsite by coastal restoration projects, so we will see if it ever comes back and holds waterfowl again.

TL;DR: There are things that can actually be changed to help the duck situation but Goins is focusing on the one thing that we will never change.

I read all of that, but this is really all you had to say.
