I was sitting in the back patio this morning and I thought I saw one around our xenia flowers but figured it was too early in the year. Must have been one because I just saw another about 30 minutes ago. Guess I’m gonna put out feeders this weekend. Come on fall weather!

It's almost time. Pretty sure what I am seeing is still the locals.

Been having a few hanging around during the summer in South Lafourche.
My wife keeps a couple feeders out all year.
She just cleaned and got 6 or 8 feeders ready to fill.
She had this lady Nancy Newfield come and tag a few hummers a couple years ago.
That was interesting. Don’t know how they migrate so far.

Only saw 1 at my feeder in Spring, figured they'd found food elsewhere. Left my feeder hanging but empty and suddenly had a little male show up last week. Filled it back up and have some females around now too. Just south of Lafayette.

I’ve had them all summer. They’re random as hell. In May I was grilling and watching the kids play. I had a cup in one hand and bbq tongs in the other and out of no where a hummingbird comes zipping up a foot from my face. Two weeks ago we’re outside and my 4 yo starts screaming saying a wasp was chasing him. It was a damn hummingbird. Chased him for about 15’. I’m in LP so maybe we have some aggressive meth head hummingbirds, I don’t know.

Hummingbird fall migration in N MS usually reaches the peak around the 2nd week of Sept. Give or take a week weather permitting

We didn't see many this spring compared to normal years. I've seen 4-5 at the feeders in the past few days though. We are in BR.

I’m in Mississippi. Have had a few all summer, but there seems to be an uptick in fighting the past few days.

Fall migration appears to be beginning in Northssippi. My usual 2 or 3 regulars has increased to 10-12 today. The regulars aren't happy and are putting up a good aerial fight.
