Can anyone reccommend a BRIGHT and very powerful flashlight?
If I can pick it up at academy or somewhere local, that would be awesome too.

You looking for handheld or a big arse spotlight?

Streamlight SuperTac is a nice light.

Or if you have an old Mag light that takes C batteries, there are some LED heads that will make it super bright. I converted all 3 of mine and put a AA adapter in one.

FWIW, I based my rec on whats available at Academy.

Fenix tk75 is about the brightest handheld flashlight I've seen. They had them at Bowie last time I was there.

The P12 is around 900 lumens if I remember correctly.

I got it from Amazon. It is amazing for its size (twss).

I got the nitecore EA4 for like 60 bucks on Amazon. Bright as shite (860 lumens on the brightest setting) , runs on 4 AA's and is very compact.

Microstream by Streamlight with a 10440 rechargeable 3.6 volt lithium battery (AAA size). You'd be amazed at how much light can come from a single AAA light.*

*this is only an observation, not a recommendation due to the possibility of explosion, if you're scared of that sort of thing. Being a man, I am not.

What do you consider powerful? How much do you want to spend? How much trouble do you want to deal with in terms of batteries or recharging? Are you more concerned with beam throw or having an intense flood for a wide area?

Left to right is a 4Sevens Preon P1, Surefire G3 w/KX4 head, Fenix PD35 2014 Edition, and a 4Sevens Maelstrom MMU. The Fenix is rated at 960 Lumens max, the Maelstrom is 800 Lumens max, the G3 is about 200 Lumens, and the Preon is 70 Lumens.
