Fished with Bayou Charters week before last. Had a group of 12, 3 boats and the lodge for a night, $275(tip not included) a head is what I was told. Greg Boudreaux was a lot of fun and worked hard for us.

Hopedale, La
Also heard people say good things about Captain Jack over at Sweetwater in Delacroix. I have never fished with him though.

We had a great time with a guide in port sulphur a few years ago. Also the cabin was really nice. Prices were reasonable. Can't remember the guide services name tho.

I'm going with LA-fishing charters out of Delacroix this weekend. I believe the guide is Cpt Randall Shaw, but I'll let you know about the experience after we go. He has good pricing to.

If you want the best red and speck fishing in the state, Terrebonne is probably the best and most consistent year around IMHO. Venice is incredible, but the river is always changing the fishing. You get a good low wind and good tide weekend in Cocodrie/Dulac/Dularge, its tough to beat.

This has definitely been a down year thus far. I haven't even made a trip yet, due to my dad only catching 30 or so in about 5 trips, only 3 outside though.

Usually we have made one good pass on them by the end of May. I'm going Fri come Hell, high water, or hurricane. Lol

Any general suggestions? We run from W. Timbalier to the western side of Whiskey Pass usually. They're calling for 8-13 mph SE winds. I think some weather is supposed to pass Wed.

He's not fishing the right spots if he's not catching in cocodrie right now. We've been lighting the specks up.....good size fish to boot. If he ain't using live shrimp, he ain't catching. Maybe croakers for the bigger ones, but just 2 weeks ago we caught a solid 4#on a live shrimp.

I second recommending bayou charters.....fished with captain Charlie a few times and always have had a blast......even bass fished with him once when he was first starting out.

Yeah, he's not using live shrimp, but we never do.

When I've bothered to use live shrimp, we get bombarded by throwbacks and white boys. We use cocahoes, but I prefer topwater.

my buddy just started a month in Campona Bay below corpus. his family has a house there and he takes the month of july off every year and fishes. he said the wind is messing with him but he is catching some nice 3-4lb fish.
