Exactly my sentiment, too.

Seems simple to me, let them have full use of it in prefishing/scouting periods, mark any waypoints they want, then navigation only during live fishing. The part that sucks to watch is them throwing at the same fish over and over until it finally gets pissed off/annoyed enough to bite.
If I had $100 to bet, I think FFs will be banned by BASS within 2 years. Now I dont know how they will do it as far as limiting the number of units, size of screen or what but it can not go down the path it is going now.
In a way, it is facing something like Nascar did and they dont want what happened to Nascar happen to BASS. Nobody watching or caring what happens. That is what is happening now. Everything that made BASS what it is today is basically over with and we are now all about the electronics.
Trust me, I know that it takes time and skill to do what they are doing, it is just not a direction that BASS can go and last.

I'm told by the guys who have spent thousands on equipment that it only tells you where the fish are and doesn't actually make them bite. So its not really a huge fricking advantage as someone with common sense would think.
MDWFP had to lower the limit at the COE lakes in MS explicitly because FFS was demolishing them every time people go out with it.
Your "guys" can lie all they want, but the numbers show the truth.

I guess I wasn't being sarcastic enough. Was hoping this sentence would tip people off:

Of course its a huge advantage. Then you have a notable poster on here saying since he can't make the fish bite then he's not really at an advantage.

This is a boomer take. They can all use it. Most if not all could get it for free if they asked their sponsors. As long as it’s legal, then the ones that don’t are just the fishing version of the old guy who refuses to read email at work.

I think the 50/50 solution to please both the audience and sponsors is to put all FFS rigs on a 5-10 second delay

FFS is chicken shite clown world type trash.

I’ve already said this about Bussey brake, but the scope guys don’t want to hear it. They’ve been talking about changing the limit to not be able to keep any fish over 18”. My opinion is just to ban FFS on Bussey brake and you wouldn’t have to impose that limit because there would be far less fish over 18” caught to begin with. FFS will take a toll on a small fishery with a ton of pressure like Bussey, but people don’t want to admit it, for some reason.

in the context of professional fishing yes. For average people on a lake seeking the same fish and one has FFS and the other not, there is a huge sportsmanship discrepancy.
Just because its "fair" in professional fishing doesn't make it not boring to watch.

I don’t understand how FFS can be legal to use but you can’t have a net, use an A-rig, have a jet boat, troll, etc, etc. They are picking and choosing what is legal based off sponsorship it would seem.

I think BASS will go to a 50/50 split of tournaments next year where half the tournaments you can use FFS and half you can’t. I can see a full ban though in a couple of years once they see how much the TV ratings are affected by it.

This has to give the old veterans (Boomers) the red arse, when these "kids" keep winning everything.
They can't say anything though due to the amount of money the electronics companies pay BASS
Tucker Smith 23 Born is 2001
Trey McKinney 20 born in 2005

The first change Bassmaster should make is not letting someone catch a fish and drag it all over the lake in a livewell all day and then releasing it; catch and release after weighing.

I wonder if state regulatory agencies will start dropping the hammer.

Ahhhh the old "Death Well" argument
FFS ain't going anywhere as long as Garmin is the title sponsor.
