I’m hunting south of dierks lake. We have 2900 acres and 10 members. Dues are 2000. The # of members basically is a floating number, we just keep it between 10-14 people. No camp house, but campground with shower/bathroom/electricity is about 5 minutes away.
We have deer/ occasional hogs (hogs don’t seem to like the hills). It’s full of hogs 1/2 a mile away on the flatlands.

Where are you located? I live in the region these gentleman are talking and it’s 5 hours from Lafayette. While it may be just a little too far to go up every weekend, if you plan your PTO say thanksgiving week (opening week of rifle every year in Arkansas and for the most part the “rut”) you can get all the hunting and killing you would like to get done in a 7 day period and not go back. Find a place closer to you if you want to have a quick weekend getaway, but like other posters have said, if you’re in a lease with low pressure you will see more deer then you ever seen in your life, and that’s always a plus for little kids.

Good luck finding some members. I have a bunch of family land that I hunt but all the tracts are small. I really wish I had a big place that I could actually manage. I've had my share of luck but for every big deer I've killed in SA I have stories of 4 or 5 more that got off down the road and got killed a year or two before I wanted to shoot them.
If your search doesn't turn up any new members let me know. I may no a guy or two that's interested.

I don’t live around there anymore but family owns tracts of land in union parish, Claiborne parish, and Lincoln parish. Since I’m not around I let my uncle (really a cousin but he’s 80 so I’ve akk km ways calmed him I cjj LF e) his wife, and his daughter/husband hunt there and whenever I want to hunt I just give them a call and tell them which stand I’m going to hunt.
I don’t shoot anything under an 8 point unless it’s the last 2 weeks then I’m freezer feeling hunting and if I don’t get 1 my uncle and them always fill all their tags (hunts several other areas) so they give me plenty of meat if I want any.
The idea of having somewhere to go to just unwind from work, family, daily life, etc… located in the woods away from everything else (internet a plus lol) . And just have fun and swap stories with a few fellow old timers (I’m 45) would be a great benefit to being in your lease.

Although this MIGHT not be the best year to hunt the Hampton area.
That ammonia leak did some pretty bad damage to some of that area.

Dad and I make up the difference because we don't want to lose the place and because of the deal we have with the widow of the woman who started the club. She said as long as someone with our family name is in the camp, we can stay at the cabin rent-free. All we pay is the property tax and electric bill.
But, if we don't get more members, we will probably have to let the northern tract go next year.

Just curious - What can ya'll kill ?
We hunted north of Farmerville, La in Arkansas a few years and could only shoot one buck, we didn't kill anything over 115" in 10 years.
We had a bunch of good ones on camera but they stayed nocturnal which is odd for a 1 buck county where we had 2-300 acres per hunter.
We hunted hard and smart and could never figure them out so we bailed out, too much money for what we were killing

We're not trophy hunters, but we don't take young bucks. Thing is, the geography won't grow huge deer. We usually take one buck, max, per year. Two hamburger does for meat. We don't like taking more than three deer per year. Not sure I answered your question.

We probably won't add anyone until next year, but we could probably let a couple folks hunt on a per-day basis this winter.
That especially applies to hogs and late-season bow hunting.

I killed the one on the right in S.A. last year.
Union County.
The one on the left scored 144 3/8 for perspective.

that's what I'm talking about, night hunting!

I should have explained a bit of our pricing structure. With only three members, we are paying north of $1,000 each. If we could add a couple folks, obviously, that number would go down.

I would be interested but for Turkey hunting only and only if the other members aren't big turkey hunters.
