Now that the season is over I will divulge this. I have a buddy in Monroe who has 2 boys in college that were riding ATV's in on a certain WMA known for it's timber hunting and then walking about that far into a hole. They beat up on some Green. Now I am way too old to do that in waders but their piles were impressive.

It’s the internet, find the answer that you want to believe and there is your new group of friends. Think of Unlimted Ducks. What a great idea

Thanks I found out a study was made using satalight GPS tracking .one of the field management team has contacted me what was found was birds were hopping from refuge to to pravite conservation areas back to refuge.but parts were left out of public copy that show the this has effectively altered the migration pattern. I have a full copy on way

I’m not sure what you really want to know. As far as I know they go from food source to food source until it is gone or they can’t get to it rather it be snow, ice, lack of food or deep water. Sure there are some that come down regardless, but that small amount isn’t anything compared to what is staying North of us for the majority of the season. Hell, the government pays for the majority of it.

Could you post the link that you are referring to?

Seems like farming practices in the north and the south have changed some. I know all the farmers in NELA around our place chop and prep everything as long as it’s dry enough to do so once they’re done with harvest. This is on top of the weather issues but there is just less food to hold/attract birds. There’s a field behind our place where it was too wet to chop this year. When the river came up and flooded it 2 weeks ago it loaded up with birds. I have some videos from the last 2 wknds of the season where thousands of birds are pouring into the field. It was amazing bc probably 75% of them were pintails. It’s the most pintails I’ve ever seen in one place...closest 2nd for me was big mondo groups at Catahoula years ago. I’ve only been hunting for about 25yrs. There were pretty decent numbers of mallards and some teal/spoonies/greys/widgeon.

This is the link as soon as read this it's like wait a minute did I miss something you can tell it's heavy on edit.I was able to talk to one of field study professors he told me this and allmost every study is likely edited to show the refuge/conservation systems are working and in fact needed.the fact is ..it's a lie and had altered the migration in a bad way .see the migration is the problem no problem no study no study no money .seems like the more waterfowl is managed the worse it gets .if you look at his way the migration is not happening as it should and if it was left alone let natural movements occur we would see many more birds in lousiana.he did say due to ag practices we will never see what we once did . me trying to keep an open mind

What I'm doing is helping a guy who wants to gather information from hunters or anybody that has seen waterfowl and may have an opinion what is and why.nobody wants you're spot .you he is on a number of boards his plan is to get a huge map of North America and a smaller map of each state and let people ,us not the government programs provide the information .cross check reports to weed out as much b.s as possible.but u would not believe how much blowback he's getting it's as if anyone who's involved with the state/federal waterfowl study programs is flipping out.it almost seems like we who pays for all the management shouldn't talk to each other in a civil way .right now we have at least 5 people in each state down the central flyway and in some states many more .the fact is if the government don't want you to ask questions you better ask questions.help if you want if not thanks eather way
