Holy Crap!
My daughter is 5 1/2 and only weighs 35 pounds and is 40" tall. What are you feeding that kid? Granted my daughter was born 2 months premature but she is average size in her class.

Took my son at 8mths to a buddies camp about 12mi out of Falgout canal by boat. Threw a beanbag in the floor of the boat and mrs sonoma held him on that. Life vest on of course. By the time we got to the camp, he was asleep

We took our daughter out last summer and she was on 1-1/2 yrs old. As wick said heat is the main problem. It's bareable when moving but long no wake zones are where they get hot. I also suggest finding a neoprene jacket not one with the foam blocks covered in nylon fabrics. It will be less bulky and softer on their skin.

Our third was born in August, he's been out the past couple weekends on Lake Lanier. The other kids were riding at the same time. Just get a jacket that fits, try them on and go. They love it and nap really well on the boat too.

Where do you boat out of? I'm in Cumming as well, our boat is at baldridge.
It's been warm but still too cold for me

My parents always used the top of the line for me haha
Sorry I'm no help but I'm taking notes. Mine will be born in 3 weeks and I'm already counting down when I can take her

My little girl is a year and 7 months and about 24-25 lbs. Got her this one a while back. Haven't taken her out and used it yet but we tried it on and it snugged up nicely. Had some room to tighten up some more too.

He eats like a horse, but he is in the normal percentile according to the doctor. He was almost 9 lbs when he was born. I will probably have to take a second job once he gets older to feed him though. At his last appointment he was 24 lbs. and 29" tall

Update on this one for anyone with newbies on the way.
Got a neoprene life jacket that seemed the smallest from bass pro around us. Didn't have much to choose from as academy and west marine were slim picking. It fit nice, she is 17lbs. I recommend letting them get comfortable with the jacket prior to your first run.
My girl hated it while we cruised through the incredibly long no wake zone of cotton bayou in orange beach, once we got to give it some gas, she was at peace. Laid back closed her eyes and napped. Pretty much slept every time we cruised.
I recommend suits that dry well like stated. My wife has to have these "cute" suits but the rash guards, hats, etc... worked the best.
The best part after cruising for about 30 minutes we slowed and she smiled from ear to ear and laughed for about 30 minutes.
Sunglasses helped with the wind on her eyes also.

Brought my daughter out in the boat when she was 6 months old. She slept the whole time.
Brought her when she was 16 months old. She wanted to run everywhere.
Made my wife nervous with her running around in my fishing boat, so my wife made me buy a pontoon boat.
Best investment ever with young kids. She runs around freely. When it gets too hot, she catches shade under the bimini top.
Now, everytime she sees her life jacket, she yells "boat boat" and tries to put her life jacket on.
