re: Kansas Deer Draw

My account got hit a few minutes ago, I also had a preference point.
Cooper Rugged Treks will compare to the ridge grapplers. Absolutely no complaints after a year. They are more of a hybrid than the Cooper At3's. Basically a tighter patterned MT. These have about 22K on them so far.

Running three car seats across in the back seat of a full-size truck is actually not bad at all. We travel in my truck over the wife's mid-size 7 seater. Much easier to get them in and out, more leg room and they are within arms reach if needed, or heaven forbid, they drop something. Only other issue is storage but with a bed cover, you have more room and storage.

I'm sure Mini-van's are cheaper and have more options for those in the back seat, but we never looked, not interested. My mom had them when we were little but that was before TV, DVD, blue-tooth and whatever else kids need now a days to be able to travel. We just roughed it out playing I spy, etc.

Cartsunlimited is a huge help and the guy is great with help too if you email him with questions. I bought a 2000 DS last year and of course the batteries were not maintained, I replaced one, then another went bad, etc. There is a reason they tell you to change them all at once. I believe there is a simple conversion for the DS to get it to 48V from 36. He has the info on his website. 6 - 8 Volts are better then 4 12's.

If you lift it you will want to replace the controller as well as the F/R switch to a heavy duty (first thing I burnt up) Also upgrading your wires to 2 gauge or even 4 gauge will make a big improvement.

They are not cheap once you start upgrading, you will always want to add something more. But its fun and easy.
Find an Avon Dealer and get you some of this. You may use it every hour but it works.

Avon Skin so Soft.

Sorry bud, had a doe and fawn come through.
Yeah, because I said I am giving up and going to get breakfast.

Should I have said "nothing moving YET?" Would that have been better for you?
Beautiful morning, but nothing moving here.
Seen all those, just no where to hunt them and if you do find a place, you are not by yourself whether you are supposed to be or not. Parents used to live right on the river, we'd watch some monsters travel that thing.

Bow opens next Saturday with weather forecast high 81 and low of 61.

From the camp:

Believe it or not he little ground hog does well. It does better the faster you go, so all though it seems small and like it would take a long time, it actually is just as fast or faster than a pull behind that you have to keep from bouncing and allow to stay in the dirt.

Also, They make a hitch kit that ties into the frame for better support, I've had no issues, except for the hitch kit killing my ground clearance and catching stumps in the woods.
We hunt mostly Warren. Live on the west side of the county.
What county? Those are studs, especially for Georgia. When I started looking at this thread, I was saying to myself, damn, I can't compete with that over here in Georgia.
Search "3D Maxpider" We put these in my wife's XC90 and have been thoroughly impressed. They also look like they belong in a car versus a work truck.

Edit: $150
Expand your garage / car port size and make sure you have somewhere to keep your lawn equipment and both vehicles with plenty room. I am not sure what the standard is here in GA but I know it's too damn small to be called a garage. Even if we had somewhere else to keep the lawn equipment, 4wheeler and all my other stuff, there would still be no way to put my truck and the wife's small SUV in there. Not even sure it would fit a fullsize truck if it were the only thing in there. And add power. Not sure what they were thinking only putting one receptacle on the garage. (Obviously I did not build)
Used an old bow target the other day and cross strapped it. You won't save anything by not using 4 straps. I learned that lesson. Dodged a deer and loosened the one strap across the back. Next thing I know I am towing the bike by a strap instead of hauling it in the back.
We are just going to move it a small piece, then clean it up and more than likely pay someone to move it to the camp.

We are just going to load it with bunks and leave an area for a kitchenette and small card table in case the weather is too bad outside.
Couldn't see on the phone. I'm dealing with a single axle. But it will be back roads the whole way. Definitely will not be in a hurry.
Was the 10 footer single or dual axle?
We have acquired a f250. I'm still a little nervous about tongue weight. We found a place we can haul it across town, so we will move it there for now and see how it does on the short trip before hauling to the camp.
Nope, just a cheap office trailer. One time move.
We are looking at a 8x32 office trailer to set up as a deer camp. From what I read they weigh about 7500lbs. We have a two hour back road drive to get it to the camp. Can we do this? Have access to a f150 5liter. Or a Chevy 5.3 both crew can 4x4. Has anyone ever done it? I've been told multiple times you can move it with a half ton but I question how far.
Our third was born in August, he's been out the past couple weekends on Lake Lanier. The other kids were riding at the same time. Just get a jacket that fits, try them on and go. They love it and nap really well on the boat too.

Here is my lone submittal from GA. 160" gross, (if we are fishing then 146") by my measurements and the B&C Spreadsheet.

Well that's not what I was looking for, but it's better than it was. it hasn't been leased in a couple years before us so the landings were grown up, now we can work with them.
So our lease had a second thinning done this year. Last time we were down they were about halfway through and had pulled off due to weather. What is it going to look like when they finish? Is it typical for them to clean up the leftovers or let them lay? Will they clean up the existing roads they have messed up? Will they clean any logging roads up or leave them rough? What about the logging decks, will they typically pile up the brush, burn it, or leave that up to us? Basically how much of a mess will they leave?

We are excited about what they have done and it will definitely give us some places to plant some food plots and allow better access, we are just unsure of how much work we have ahead of us.
Cool, if it has everything you want I would jump on it. Don't know much about Northwest GA hunting, we always hunt middle GA, but drive a lot further.

We lease for $10.5/acre so if y'all paid the same thing for 10 people it would be $1785 / ea so for a couple hundred more, you don't have to do food plots, buy stands, have a camp and a pond to fish, sounds good to me.

I do not like the guest rules, but where we hunt if you don't bring a guest you could easily be hunting by yourself, we don't put a lot of pressure on ours, we all have kids and can't make it every weekend.
What part of North Ga? It's hard to find that kind of low pressure around here.

For the others, GA regs are two bucks, 10 does (which is rediculous) and the second buck must be 4 on one side or better.

This is what the wife got me for my birthday. The Sport II, I think she did good.

With shipping and FFL fee they come out to about the same thing. I am new to AR's, Do I come out with that much of a better product? How do I know that I am ordering quality parts, or just take your word for it and order what you linked?

I have looked at that option before and pretty much had picked out the same thing you did. It probably wont get much use, more or less just to have one, maybe a hog hunt here or there.
