I don't understand how he got arrested for aggravated assault. Being the other guy was ticketed with harassment that would mean he was the aggressor and Johnson was just protecting himself. Saying you will shoot somebody who is threatening physical harm to you isn't aggravated assault in my mind.
Either there is more to the story or Johnson is getting out of the charges in court.
I agree and I think the cops should be reprimanded for not just issuing a summons in such a situation. the arrest was far well above what was required or should have happened in such a situation.
im betting the cops new and were friends with bullera and "that" is why they arrested a guy for simply protecting him self and his wife from and angry group threatening them.
you know damn well if it was those cops fishing and bullera did that to them they would have drawn weapons and aimed them at them.
total BS and abuse of power to arrest the guy

Everyone is going off speculation and has no clue what actually went on. Both these guys live on the lake and run into each other quite often. It boils down to he doesn't want to take the time to make his own, so he just fishes everyone else's.
I'm not saying its illegal but when he makes new piles to get away from him, he will follow him to the new ones just because he knows he can. After a while I can see why he got to that point. Only person he ever has problems with.

I lived on the lake and saw guys put piles out all the time. There really is secrets on Toledo Bend. It took two years for me to get board of fishing the lake almost daily after I retired to go back to work.
Bottom line you put brush piles out on a public lake bought and paid for with public tax dollars, understand people will fish your brush pile.
If a guy knows you and still fishes your piles there is nothing you can do.
If you put benches out in a city sidewalk and you expect no one to sit on your bench you are stupid.

Use names instead of the same pronoun to refer to each person. Jesus.
It's a public lake. If your buddy doesn't want people to fish where he fishes, he needs to buy or build his own private lake.

If you put out piles and others see you do it and know where they are, they will fish them, it's a public water, ALL of it...
That said, I can understand the frustration if you continually see the same boat there, but there's a right & wrong way to approach people about it. Honestly, I think the only thing to do here is just move on quietly to your next pile and fish somewhere else.
This is just a scary story altogether, and sadly this probably happens a lot more than what is reported. There is NOTHING, let me say that again, NOTHING about fishing that should ever escalate to the point of people pulling out out a handgun. Better to just keep a level head, move on, and not jeopardize your life and/or others.
I randomly found some bamboo brush sticking up out of the water once not far from my camp, made a mental note of it. Months later went back and was innocently fishin around it; while fishing had the "owner" of that brush pile come by, dude didn't stop but idled close enough so he could yell angrily and flail his arms at me "If you gonna fish my brush pile at least get in the right position, you ain't even fishin it right..", then dropped the hammer on his motor and took off. Guess he was right b/c I didn't catch shite off that pile, LOL.

I just don't believe in fishing another mans brush pile when that's how he feeds his family.
It's not his. Anyone can fish there, the fricker needs to just deal with it.

I won't lie, they need to institute the same rules for boats as we have for cars.
You come into another man's boat, he can put you down.
You wanna act like a hard arse, my wife knows where the gun is. I'll let you kick my arse so she can shoot you

The only guy who was in the wrong was the guy who pulled the gun.

Now you're just trolling.

Incorrect.
What he should have done was simple, just say, if you or your five friends attack me or my wife I will rightfully assume the rest of you will join in. As a result, I'm in fear for my life and have no choice but to respond with lethal force.
That isn't an ultimatum. That is a statement of law.

Hell my wife would probably shoot me first.
