That’s what I just bought for my new bolt action. It’s clearer than the Crossfire 2 and Leopold Frredom. Got it for $239 on eBay

Leupold have a lifetime warranty as well?
$300 Leupold >>>>>>>>> $300 Vortex

a 50mm objective on a 1" tube won't help much, but 44mm on a 30mm tube with good glass means you can hunt till dark.

my budget, I'd say up to $800

Here’s your scope, a Zeiss, at the top of your price range. They’ve updated the model and these are on sell.

And 50mm is usually wasted bulk.

love how Zeiss still makes a reticle 60 like the WW2 German sniper scopes.
I put one on my Swede, freakin love it.

Exit pupil has nothing to do with the body diameter.

He's not saying it does.
He's saying that if you have 50mm objective lens and a 1" tube the scope will not let in as much light as a scope with a 44mm objective and a 30mm tube.
He's absolutely correct in that statement.

But the metric for that is exit pupil, and the formula for exit pupil is OD/magnification. The tube diameter is irrelevant.

I see what you're saying. You are correct.

Europtic has big sale in Leupold demo and blem scopes
Thanks for the link.
Damn good deals in there. The blemished part worries me a little, but with firearms and the industry as a whole I find most blemishes are something I would never notice.

Leupold come with lifetime warranty. Buy with confidence

Personal preference of course, but I hated the 50mm objective and the 30mm tube, was too top heavy and had to mount it too high. Also, not blown away by the Vortex Diamondback I bought in terms of clarity for my go to gun, will end up replacing it at some point with a better quality scope. High quality 1" tubes are unfortunately getting harder to find.

I will add the Vortex wont have the eye relief or forgiving eyebox that the leupold does as well.
