Get work emails all the time from HR for open positions and this one caught me by surprise. They have a opening for deer guide and another for housekeeper/cook. Had no idea our company had that so I harassed the higher ups that I was applying lol. But if someone on here was interested I could post the link to the application. I have no idea about what it would entail and pay.

You work for a O&G service company, a large pipe vendor?

Ya Kirby, O&G transport for those that don't know. I don't know much about it but it's the Hollywood camp.

I have a decent day gig, but I could certainly entertain being a corporate deer camp cook in retirement

I’d love to do it but would hate to miss my deer hunting.

Hollywood Camp is a beautiful setup. I've been there many times. Great place.

Probably a barely liveable wage if that

I’ve been there a couple times many years ago…saw a rifle shot through the roof in the gun room. He was “checking it to make sure it was unloaded”. I nearly had a heart attack.

If you do it you want to work for one of the corporate leases not for the large private families, normally.

I went to a high school football game at falfurrias three years ago and as night fell, the lights come on and the roaches come out. Leaving, you stepped on 4-5 roaches with each step

I worked over 30 years on the Mississippi River. Knew a bunch of the Kirby folks. As for Falfurrias, I‘ve been passing through that area since the early 90’s, heading down to the Rio Grande Valley. Beautiful country. Not far from the birthplace of Nolan Ryan.

Does Halliburton still have their place on the King Ranch? I think it was called muy Bonita. Went one time and the guides were telling me that they had to do all the same online crap that frac and cement hands had to take.

My dad grew up in Falfurrias. We did quit a bit of hunting done there with Chevron.
