Anyone who likes the DC reals, Academy has the SLX DC marked down to $152 and the Curado DC marked down to $208.

ETA: to sweeten the deal Rakuten is giving 10% cash back for Academy purchases when I made mine, and of course another 5% off if you have an Academy card. For me that dropped the prices to $179 ($197 w/ tax) for the Curado DC and $130 ($143 w/ tax) for the SLX DC.

My son and I each have a Curado DC.

I've been very impressed with mine.

Thanks. I'll have to order some. I had 2 Curados stolen this week.

Tow of the really nice spinning reels, Nasci and vanford, are also reduced.

Academy must have received a few shipping containers.

Looks like all Shimano reels are reduced on Academy's website. If you enter to cart then you can check price reduction. The two I added to cart were around $20 off a piece

I really should proofread better.

As to the reels, man, I just don't need anything.

If they were discounted more I'd have to pick up a few more spinning reels for popping cork rods but at $20 off it's not enough for impulse buys

Me as well… add in an additional 10% off for veterans and I couldn’t pass it up. Now to let the wife know what she is helping me buy for Father’s Day. 8-)

5:1:1 is all they offer on the Curado?

Name me a spinning reel to buy. I don’t own one but I’m willing to try one out.

Whatever model in the price point you're comfortable with from either Daiwa or Shimano. For me, under 150 is all Daiwa. Over 150 isn't as clear.

I think something is up, I don't see an "add to cart" for any of the Shimano baitcasters.

Daiwa Tatula 100’s are $76.78 when you add them to your cart. Just have to find a store with them in stock.

I missed out, but then again I loaded up on the H2O Mettles the other day for $33 a piece. I should be good for a while.
