My gun sits between the seat and the middle seat in front of the seatbelt and there is a small towel over it.
You guys that place your gun with magnets on or below the steering column where you do hide it when you park and get out your truck ?

Is there a medical reason or something that prevents carrying it in a holster ?

Do you guys unholster/reholster from/to their carry location every time they get in/out the truck?

I'll have to take a pic of mine when I get back home. Out of town. I made a piece the is attached under my dash on the right side. You take you holster with gun out and the holster clip slides into the piece. It's basically a 2 inch wide and 2 inch long piece of metal that sits 3/8 of a inch off the dash. Had someone designe me a nicer looking one to 3d print but I don't know anyone with a 3d printer.
I do and I always put in in the holster before putting it back on myself. To many accidental discharges from clothes when wearing the holster and putting the gun in it. I appendix carry iwb so I don't feel like blowing my dick off lol.

I plan on putting it in the console below the seat when leaving the truck.

No - I just don't want to carry it on my body at all times. I rather have it if I need it while in my truck traveling.

I just put mine in the cup holder or on the seat next to me if it’s not in a holster on me.

Is it a flat magnet or the type where the handgun slides into?
This is it. My Glock 45 fits in it perfectly. Can’t have a red dot or suppressor sights. Also your gun has to have a flat top slide. I don’t keep a round in the chamber but can rack one in from the mount. I have only had it come out once and was driving through plowed ground in a field.

Console safe for vehicle storage.

I have a 2016 Sierra 2500 and bought a console safe from Lock’er Down. I bought one of their magnets and mounted it to the console close to my right leg. The magnet is strong enough to hold the gun through my pocket holster, never had it fall off while driving.

In a holster on your hip

The front seat in my truck has a fold down section in the middle with a compartment in it. This stays down like a console all the time. There is an additional compartment in the lower section of the seat. For now I will have my handgun in the top compartment. I have a flat gun magnet I plan on using to keep the handgun from moving around. This way the handgun is out of sight at all times where the other options the gun can be seen.

This is the answer. If you have to leave it in your car for some reason have a bolted in gun safe.

Magnet mount with 3M tape. Stick to center of sunroof glass. XDS45 with spare mag fits and the cover and glass will both still slide. This is in a 2020 Silverado

A couple of years ago, someone walked up to a vehicle at a Sonic in Dutchtown, surprised them and pointed a pistol and told them to get out. They did.
If there was weapon was under the seat, in a glove box or just not grabbed because of the surprise, the perp would be riding off with your car AND your gun(s).
It seems right to me to keep it in a cross draw holster that you can get to without too much effort.
