I'd get behind the dash and rig it up to be auto-off. I hate that feature.

I spy a straight axle under the front of that 5500. I know it's a pipe dream, but oh please let there be one under the 3/4 tons.

I can't wait to see all the 5500xd rigs in turnaround parking lots.

I haven't seen any NAIAS 2018 updates on the Chevy/GMC mid size trucks yet. Just the ranger.

Yeah, but not an extensive overhaul. Just some styling updates, new interior, 10 speed transmission, a little more horsepower, etc.

It has solid front axles and straight frame rails similar to the Kodiak it will replace. Looks like it will have a clamshell hood and the same cab as the other HD Chevrolet trucks.

They will certainly offer models with a pickup bed that a few people will buy..... but I suspect that most will be the ultra-long wheelbase flat beds, bucket trucks, bush trucks, or bobtail trucks. The massive straight frame rails will make it pretty tall and impractical for a private pickup truck.

I think Chevrolet is going after the old medium duty Class 4, 5, and 6 Kodiak and Topkick buyers that need a replacement more than the pickup-based Ford F550.

All new design means it's a good time for me to buy the old design. My current Silverdao is 10 years old and still going, will wait for the deals pop up to move the old out to make way for the new.

They already have tons of discounts, but yes, when these start showing up at dealerships, you will be able to get a lot more off a 2018.

If they'd offer it with a pickup style bed, the hands will pay it.

Being a junky for rediculously heavy and overbuilt things I might want one too

You think that's ugly so you're looking at a titan?

You're perception of ugly is throwed off!

Probably not for another year.

The ultra-reliable 6.0L V8 gasser lives on.....
