Coloradans for Responsible Wildlife Management

I know the vast majority of you don’t live in Colorado, but I truly believe that if this passes it will be a domino effect across the country eventually over our lifetimes.

So what prop 127 is, is a ballot initiative to ban Mountain Lion, Bobcat, and Lynx hunting in Colorado. Nvm that Lynx are already a federally protected species in the Lower 48, they just added them to tug more on the heartstrings of city dwellers who don’t know shite.

Colorado’s Cat population is thriving, they are reproducing at rates they haven’t in years of recording their populations. That is even with hunting.

This initiative got enough signatures to put it on the general ballot on Nov 5th. I know all of you can’t vote on it, but if they win they will not stop with big Cats. There is already talk about “why are we hunting the State’s animal, Bighorn Sheep?” That’s an example of their goal. They’ll go for that down the line, furbearers such as Beavers are also on the chopping block. Denver is trying to ban the sale of leather from furbearers as well.

Lion hunting, whether you do it or not, brings in thousands if not more money to small mountain towns. Gas, lodging, meals, paying the guides, processing etc. If they ban it, the CPW will still resort to culling a couple hundred of Lions every year, toss their bodies in the disposal and those towns lose out on all that money.

Regardless of that, it’s an attack on hunting culture in general. These people don’t understand our way of life and our connection to the land which has gone back generations. We love these animals, and know that management via hunting based on our State Wildlife Departments’ proposals (the professionals) is how we manage them.

I’m voting no obviously, but I want to do more than that by spreading the word. Donate if you can or want to, I won’t judge if you don’t. I get it, you’re nonresidents who most likely won’t ever come to Colorado to hunt a Mountain Lion, but it does go deeper than that. This is the beginning of their goal, to ban hunting overall. They won’t stop here, if they win, it will give them more confidence to go after sheep, moose, mountain goats, bears, and eventually deer and elk. If you don’t donate, at least text anyone you know in Colorado to make sure they know about it and are educated. We lost the Wolf vote because of laziness and lack of education. It won’t happen again.

Thanks for reading Baws.

Thanks for posting this, I listened to a podcast on it. One of the scariest parts of this is putting a legal precedence or definition(I’m not a lawyer) on “trophy hunting”.

Its so fricking frustrating that the western states, vast and beautiful and wild as they are, are ruled by hippy population centers.

I wish colorado Utah Wyoming Idaho Montana Washington and Oregon didn't have a single city in them.

The urbanization of Western states is killing us. You’ve got vast states with hundreds of small towns that have had their way of life for a hundred years. But people are piling into cities like Denver, Vegas, Boise, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Seattle, Portland and completely control the entire states’ way of life.

It’s very frustrating, I live in rural Northern Colorado, in a town of 9k. We’re a conservative, hunting/Ag community but nothing seems to matter because Denver runs everything. It’s how the entire West is going.

The war on hunting...

What national organizations are pushing this? Sierra Club? WWF? EDF?

Its criminal. The hippies need to stick to California, which in itself is a total travesty of a loss. It's the most beautiful place on earth, completely ruined by the city people.

Another example of low IQ voters voting when they shouldn't have an equal vote, or any vote at all.

Also another example of why we won't vote ourselves out of this mess we are in. There is a chasm in this country that cannot be bridged except for war. I repeat: We will not vote our way back to the times of old. They are finding ways upon ways to find us guilty of high crimes.

You don't hate your government enough. However much you hate them, you need to double it and give it to the next person. They hate us with the heat of a thousand suns, therefore it is our duty as sons of our anarchist forefathers to hate them back 10 fold because this is bullshite.

All states will eventually get like this where 1 or 2 cities in the state will outnumber the rest of the resident in the state. Illinois is a prime example of this.

I’ve heard the issue discussed on the Meateater podcast. You Colorado baws need to get the word out to the locals there that in other states that have severe restrictions on mountain lion hunting end up having to pay professionals to go kill roughly the same number of cats that hunters were harvesting because of livestock depredation or other nuisances. Same amount of cats get killed, but it just costs the state money instead of the state making money off hunting permits.

It’s what happens when you let californicators into your state. They are doing to Colorado what they did to California. Texas is next. Then Tennessee.

There is an easy fix to this. Capture some Mountain Lions and turn them loose in the areas that are voting for this. They will be scared shitless the first time they hear one and they will vote accordingly.

it doesn't matter what the vote count is on Prop 127, the communists in commirado will do it anyway they just put it to a vote for appearances - not the first time, won't be the last

Had a buddy that lived in Co Springs, one of his neighbors broke up a dog fight in their back yard and didn’t realize until he was knee deep in it that it wasn’t another dog, his dog was fighting off but a lion.

I made 4 or 5 elk hunts in the flat tops at 11K ft between 2005 and 2012 and there were lion tracks all over in fresh snow from the might before.

If the idiots in Denver pass this, I hope the lions eat a few of them in the years to come like they do from time to time in CA.

Elections have consequences.
