Nice.....I will go with the Wise Eye I think....They are located right here 15 mins from my home....

I am planning on using the solar panels and see how they do....as I understand it, battery life can be an issue on all cameras.

Thanks for the note.

We are investing in Wiseeye cams as well, going to do small 12v battery for auxiliary power instead of solar panels, 20 dollars for battery vs 80 for panel/battery . Battery supposedly last about a year, as opposed to trying to find sunlight under the trees. Wiseeye tech is second to none

Oodskule,
I personally own cameras made Spypoint (one LM2 and one LTE Micro Link) and Tactacam (Reveal 3.0 Pro). One of my hunting buddies has 2 Muddy cameras.
Expense (least--->most): Muddy>Spypoint>Tactacam
Customer Service (best--->worst) Spypoint (24 hr chatline)>Tactacam. My buddy hasn't had to use Muddy CS.
Picture plan, about the same w/ minor differences
Pic quality (best--->worst) Tactacam>Muddy>Spypoint
Battery life (shortest--->longest) Muddy>Spypoint>Tactacam
Warranty (longest--->shortest) Spypoint>Tactacam=Muddy
Set up (easiest--->hardest) Tactacam>Spypoint.

I started w/ Spypoint Micro Link LTE because one of my son-in-laws had them. It broke and was replaced after1 year by factory w/ an LM2 after I spent 3.5 hours on the chat line. Now I'm having problems getting the LM2 running. Second Spypoint was also a Micro Link LTE. It ran ok.

This year my son in law decided to change to Tactacam after he'd been burned on reliability of Spypoint. He had 5 Spypoints replaced by the factory. I decided to change to Tactacam as 2 of my hunting buddies also have Tactacams. I had difficulties getting my Tactactam running at first. Finally got it running, but it burned through batteries so that I had to change all 12 AA's' every week. Bought a rechargeable Lithium battery pack which lasted 12 days. Had email exchanges w/ Tactacam and they're sent me a replacement. The rechargeable Lithium battery pack is still 100% after 3 weeks on the new camera. Some really good features of my Tactacam that I like: it has internal memory so an external SD card is not needed; it's not tied to a particular cell network as it selects whatever cell network has the strongest signal. If you buy the Tactacam, I don't recommend spending extra money for camera screen feature (to see the cameras's point of view) like I did.

This is an industry in its infancy. In the near future, the industry standard will be determined for features, cost, plans, customer service, etc and we'll see how many companies are still standing.

what is best brand to buy?

NOT Spypoint.

My best cameras have been Tactacam. I have some versions 2.0 and 3.0. Only one that ever crapped out was one that got flooded. So they do not work underwater, otherwise they have been flawless for me.

This is what I do. Old ride on batteries from my kids. They have been going strong for months now this season.

A 7ah lithium will last about 2 months set to send pics instantly, much longer if you set the pics to send in batches. Your mileage may vary based on what it’s pointed at, and how often it’s being triggered. Activating the cell modem and sending data is by far the biggest drain on the batteries.

Well thanks Tiger......GREAT info! Appreciate the effort here.

I am torn between the Tactacam and EyeWise.....

My concerns are obviously quality/longevity, and battery life between changes. It seems that both of these suppliers are reputable and prolly can't go wrong either way....

I second this. I don’t know how they compare price wise and don’t care. Great customer service in the few instances I’ve needed. I have cameras 4 years old now. They still work great. I will be adding another one next time they have a sale.

I can’t justify the additional cost I’m already spending $2100 a year on camera subs.

If they were to ever get more inline with Tactacam and Stealthcam on their pricing then I would start switching.

Go to academy or Walmart and get the cheapest solar panels you can find. Mine cost me less that $30 each and have lasted multiple years and still ticking. I’m running wise eyes for a 3rd year at this point and like others have said customer service is second to none. Great cameras at a great price. I previously ran covert and they did a good job as well for 4 years but I rather my wise eye

I've been using the tactacam reveal for 5 years or so. Great customer service, and a good product. My next purchase will be WiseEye, they have some amazing features with their cameras that I want to give a try.

One Stealth Cam (2 years in), 3 Brownings (one is 4 years in use). Happy with both, haven’t had any connection issues and they all pick up cell signals in areas my phone won’t.

Another recommendation for Tactacam.

We used to use Cuddebacks at our lease. Really liked them and believe their system of linking all cams to one cam to send out pics is the best budget friendly package that i've found. The only bad part was the delay between something triggering the cam and the pics being sent. Could be immediate, but most of the time 1-3 hours. Pics were clear/good quality. Detection rate slowed a little, but not bad of the 4 or 5 years we used them.

We changed to Tactacams this year and they are awesome in my opinion. Great quality pics and almost instant trigger to sending the pics. The benefit to us with the instant pics is when we are at the lease and hogs come to a feeder or bait spot. it allows us time to grab a rifle and stalk up to that spot to take them out.

Good luck

I’ve run CuddeLinks for years. I like the fact that I can run multiple cams off a single data plan.

Do any other cams offer this? Reveal? Other?

We have four Stealth Fusion Max Cams on our property, and they take a ton of batteries… 8 AAA, I think, but they stay powered for a while. It really depends on how much action they are getting and how often you set the camera to take pictures during the same scene. We have been satisfied with them. They also give you an On Demand feature so that you can see what’s happening before you hunt that particular stand/area.

How long a life are you getting out of tactacams?
I've run 13 brownings for the last three years and have loved them. This year six of them have had various internal problems that can't be fixed.

I have 4 Muddy(stealth cam) cameras running on browning solar panels, love em. Turn em on and walk off. For the money, they are amazing. Trashed my moultrie and Browning cams.

Most of them never leave the words, and I only have to change batteries in the camera and the solar panel once year.

and will the solar power work in partial sun, or very little sun?

Just look for an opening in the trees and they'll usually do well, but I don't run mine on instant download unless I'm hunting those days.

3 years on average. They stay out year round. When they break tactacam usually offers to repair them or I can send them in and get a discount towards my next purchase.

FYI a proposed change on the LDWF agenda for 25-26 is a ban on trail cameras for WMAs.

LINK

Other changes will ban the use of trail cameras on wildlife management areas

I wish they would ban them everywhere. They really have limited the amount of ground I can hunt on, including my neighbors'!
