I just went and got a new battery for my four wheeler, $85 was the cost. From Walmart. To me that feels like fricking highway robbery. No way should a battery of that size cost that much. Hell, all batteries are wayyyy overpriced. Why in the frick are they charging that much for that?

Just like vehicles and insurance - because they can.

Sounds like you got a good deal. The last Honda battery I bought was around 100.00. I bought it at the Honda dealer, so that was my fault.

Did you have one to trade in or did you just buy it straight up?

Yeah, I have no idea why. And I traded the old battery in, too. I asked the guy why I was charged that much if I was trading another battery in and he said that they didn't do that anymore or something like that. I'm calling bullshite.

I bought a battery for my ATV 2 weeks from Advanced Auto because, thankfully, Walmart didn't have the one I needed. I brought my old battery into Advanced and asked the guy if they had any. He asked me if I wanted a precharged battery for $90 or a battery that I'd have to fill and charge myself for $60. I saved myself $30

My battery that came with my kodiak lasted 13 years. I guess I can't get too bummed over $85 for a replacement, but I see your point.

My daughter has a 4 wheeler she only rides occasionally and it seemed like the battery was always dead. I put a lithium ion battery in it and have had zero problems with it. Only paid $70 for it. That battery hardly weighs anything. I just went in the garage and checked and the four wheeler fired right up. I know that was the first time it had been cranked in at least 6 months.
