Going on a three day camping trip on the Buffalo River in Arkansas. We will kayak all day and set up camp on the river at night. I have a tent and sleeping bag. One of the guys coming with us has all the cooking gear. I have dry bags for clothes. What else?

If you have Facebook, there's a really great page dedicated to kayaking the Buffalo. You could ask on there and they'd have great answers.

Somebody on this board posted about these years back. I'll still use dude wipes for a dump but these leave you feeling way cleaning if you're doing a whore bath.

I almost always forget to bring a pillow.

Dont need much. A way to purify water is nice, preferably a hand pump filter since it wont be freezing but a steri-pen is fine too. A bar of soap. Beef jerky. Booze.

Lots of people do 3 days in the mountains out of a 25 pound backpack. You'll be fine. Id probably ditch the sleeping bag and bring a sleeping pad a bed sheet and a blanket unless its going to get below mid 50's.

Nah. He just needs a basic Sawyer mini and some smart water bottles.

Bring some rope for a clothesline. Dry clothes are a game changer.

Ticks have been really bad this year. Make sure to check after being on land

Defiantly a dry bag. You don' need all of the convinces of home ie. don't over pack

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that you typically overpack. We still do but not like we used to.
We’re going to Colorado at the end of June for two weeks. Camping (main camp) and backpacking in for some overnight trips.
If your vehicle is near by then it’s easy to bring everything you want and don’t need.
If your hiking in, less is better

Y’all need a canoe. Much more cargo room. Bring a small chair.

They aren’t hiking or camping from vehicle. They’re floating and spending the night on the river. What you do on your Colorado trip doesn’t help them much.

As a general rule, yes. They’re paddling though so bring whatever you can fit. You’re essentially car camping.

I just set up our camp for the next week and thought of something you might want.

USB powered fans

These work great to move air inside your tent. We have two of them powered from the same power bank and we can usually get two days or so of continuous run time on one charge.

This. I’m sure every canoe will two people with an ice chest and whatever each of us can carry. I’ll have a back pack and a dry bag. I’m going to bring some extra stuff in my truck and whatever we can fit in the canoe I’ll take and leave the rest behind.
