Always keep some Beetle Spins in crawfish color and black w yellow stripes. Always use the gold spoon. Never had much luck w the silver.

No problem brass...I am on the hunt myself, think Ive settled on the Ascend 10' SOT for now. Beetle spin users - dumb question, but weightless or weighted? I just remember those bastards being lighter than air..

Dumb question indeed. Weight is in the bait. It's a spinner bait after all.

Don't need a weight. It is just very light tackle and I suck at casting light baits with a baitcaster. That is the only thing I use a spinning reel for.

Havent thrown one since high school, I just remember them being a bitch to cast with any wind. Excuse my ignorance with all this. I am a pure bred duck hunter, just entertaining the fishing thing so I have something to do in the off season when I get this yak.

You can buy a light tackle spinning reel that works great for sac au lait fishing and they're not very expensive at all.

Can't go wrong with a lucky 13 either.

Not a top water bait, but I've caught the majority of bass in my lifetime with a rattle trap, every tackle box should have at least 1.

Yeah that's pretty much what I use when I fish ponds where I have to fish smaller baits. I am relatively new to baitcasters so I am having to learn as I go

I rock the super fluke JR by Zoom. Pearl white. That's all I use and it works like a beast. Everything hits it.

7' St. Croix Rod
Shimano Symetre 2500 Fl
Braded with a three foot mono leader. It's my baby.

Never liked bait casters. I can cast farther than any bait caster. Who wants to bet?

For bass you need to have some green pumpkin, watermelon red and watermelon blue flake plastics. I keep finesse, trick and u tail worms. Create batis baby brush hogs, brush hogs, lizards and a sweet beaver or something like that. I use blue flake if the water is murky or Carmel color. Watermelon red and green pumpkin when the water is clearer. Top water I'd pick up a couple of pop'rs, gotta have some Zara spook Jr's in black and crome and sexy shad. A couple of crank baits I prefer bandit in shad colors(Louisiana shad or sexy shad) I would also pick up a crawfish and a white crank bait. 100 and 200 series on the crank baits.

It's not about distance for me, it's more of a finesse thing. Baitcast is a LOT more versatile when you fish a good bit.

Plenty of plastics, Hula Popper, a few Rat-L-Traps, and shad colored flukes. If you're gonna use artificial for bream/crappie, you can't go wrong with the beetlespins or rooster tails.
