Won a 20" A Bolt 6.5 Creedmoor in a raffle a few weeks ago. Don't have much need for it as I have a 308, so I don't want to put anything fancy on it, but it might be worthy to keep around for my nephews. Suggestions on a budget scope?

What do you mean by budget scope?

Leupold VX3hd 3-9x40

Meopta Optika5 4-20x44

Would be two I’d consider.

Get this Burris and have no regrets. I have expensive (to me) $500+ Leupolds and Trijicons and the performance is very similar for a fraction of the price.

Currently have 4 Burris scopes and they have been fantastic for the price. Having run Vortex, Bushnell, Nikon, Etc, I am now a big believer in Burris for the money

Europtic has a demo Burris Signature HD 3-15x44mm Plex for $419.99. Really good scope and glass for the money. This scope has specific turrets for the 6.5 CM.

Whatever you buy make sure it’s at least a 30mm tube and not 1”. A lot of the cheaper scopes have 1” tubes and on that 6.5 that will suck arse. With a 1” you won’t have many options for mounts with MOA adjustments

Whatever Burris 3-9 fits in your budget. They are prettymuch dominating the budget no frills market for durable hunting optics that other companies have abandoned and vortex sucks at.

A 30mm tube’s advantage over a 1” tube is the amount of windage and elevation adjustment. It doesn’t make a scope inherently brighter or clearer. There are more mounting options for 1” tubes simply because they are the most common.

But its a creedmoor! You HAVE TO have a 30mm tube, castle battlement turrets, and a Christmas tree reticle!

How else are you going to shoot 1700 yards with it???

6.5mm does not drop they actually are still rising at 500 yd, just ask the gun counter guy at bass pro.

To the OP
Another vote for the leupold freedom for a budget set it and forget it scope. I have had one on a 30-30 for at least 7yrs now and it’s never lost zero and shoots min of a beer can at 100yd.

Bought a Sig Buckmaster 3x9 yesterday for a CVA Scout 350 legend. went sight it in and to shot my 7mm-08 with Vortex crossfire 3x9. that sig is clearer glass and very easy to adjust. they have illuminated and non-illuminated models
