Just got one for Christmas. It came with 4 sets of blades. Which ones do you guys use for each fish? I've been a blade guy so this is new to me.

I got one a few months back. Battery life is incredible. Not sure what set of blades I used but I will say the meat gets between the blades a little to often and was wondering if anyone else has this problem.

I've been eyeballing these expensive bastards.

Report back after you use.

Used to watch an older woman that cleaned fish for the charters in Cocodrie. She kept a bucket of fresh water on the table and would periodically dip her blades in the water (still running). I’ve since started doing this, clears the blades without slowing you down.

I have one and love it. If you do any fresh water fishing get a set of the cheap mister twister blades for cleaning bass and sacs. The ones that come with the BB are too coarse for freshwater.

I've only cleaned trout so far using the smallest set, used the largest set last night on a prime rib and it worked great.

I've had one since they came out. It doesn't do any better than any other electric knife as far as horsepower goes but it is vastly more convenient and the blades are better. I use the long thin ones for everything except bream, I use the short ones for that.

It was well worth Santa's money IMO

From what I was told they don’t last.

If I'm aiming for minced meat for trout burgers I'll use an electric knife, otherwise I use a regular filet knife for trout. I mess up some trout with an electric knife.

I'm the opposite. I mess up Reds with an electric knife.

Use the second to biggest for reds. I’ve never had problems with mine making ground meat out of any fish. Guess it’s all on how you use it.

The blades are sharp, but coarse and the cordless knife doesn't reciprocate as fast as the corded version so I can shred some meat on smaller trout as it gets close to the tail. As long as I am fileting fish that are still cold (and the meat firm), I don't have that problem. I find those teeth can be a little too aggressive for smaller trout and can grab the skin when trying to separate the meat from the skin unless I leave a little bit of meat left on the skin. Works awesome on bass, sacalait, and reds that aren't too big.

I just smashed my corded one on the concrete. Less than 200 fish cleaned and something stripped out. Not sure if it had a warranty but I’m pretty sure I voided it.

I got the cord version for Christmas. Anxious to try it out!

ETA-was curious if I’d use anything other than 1 blade. I can see here I’m not alone.

I bought the stainless mister twister blades and used them in mine. Worked much better for trout. I found the blades that came with it leave the trout a little mushy. For reds use the larger blade. The knife works great

Pretty much ever dude in the family got one this year.

Haven’t tried it yet. Amazon reviews have about five thousand reviews and about a hundred thousand confirmed purchases with a 4.7 rating. So hopefully it’s as good as advertised.

I didn’t realize the cordless ones did that. I have the corded.

I’ve had the corded version since it came out and really like it. I’ve only cleaned bass, white perch and catfish with it but I haven’t had any issues whatsoever and wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again. I’ve only used the two thinner sets of blades that comes with it but they’ve both done great.

I have used both. The cordless is obviously more convenient. However it does not have near the power of the corded. I actually switched to the corded after using the cordless on the same fish(black fin)
