Finally decided to grab one of these guys. Settled on the Teal. I've hunted blinds with mojos and without mojos and there's def a difference. Decided I'm biting the bullet this season and giving up on the old-fashioned hunting

I don't understand the disdain for using Mojo or any motion decoys for that matter. What I do understand is that some people wanna keep it "old school" all the time, and that's fine, but at the same time you have to keep up with the innovation, and if you don't, you can be rest assured that someone around you will be.

I wish those bastards would hurry up with the replacement arms for the mallard machine

The birds have seen Mojos 1,345,789 times by the time they reach my part of the country. Excellent device for flaring birds.

They've also seen hunters and have been shot at 1,345,789 times, so what else is a waste of money? Guns? Ammo? Camouflage?

I'm on a lease with other family members and we have groups that hunt together. One group hunts over a mojo and the other group hunts over about 400 decoys. We hunt over 150 decoys (b/c we pick them up after each weekend and its a pain in the arse to put out anymore) and we cant compete. We'll come back to the camp with teal, gaddys and maybe a canvasback or two. other groups come back with drake mallards and pintails. its been happening too long and its not a coincidence. we try and pass on shite ducks to get the greenheads but can never get them to work and they always go down by someone else's blind. they're my family and i love them but frick that noise

There are still people hunting without Mojos in their bag?

Good. More for me

Don't get me wrong, there is definitely an appropriate time and place for them and I've seen instances of mojo overkill, but I argue that there are other things more wasteful than a $200 motion teal decoy.

This. They don't work. A jerk cord will work better every time.

I agree with you that you don't always put em out. It's situational, but to refuse another tool in your arsenal for the same of keeping it old school is pretty dumb. They do work in certain birds more so than others. Teal namely

Have you tried any unorthodox methods like placing decoys almost out of gun range on the down wind side of your blind? Or completely splitting species in your decoy spread? Anything to make your rig look different from the other rigs that the ducks have seen.

So you're saying they do in fact work? Y'all act like we're talking about a 4 mojo spread in January. I can assure you that if they didn't work, it wouldn't be a multi million dollar industry.

I think you misunderstood my first post. Yes I use them and think they work in some cases. And people who refuse to use then should reconsider

We never put decoys almost out of gun range and we always keep the upwind side of our blind pretty open. we do split species up. mallards together, pintail together, teal together but more separate from the other decoys. we paint our older decoys all black with white bills to imitate coot and we put some of those separate and mix some in.

What about other products that give you a competitive advantage over the next guy?
