Damn, I lost my ol boy (10y/o) this past Jan and the want for a pup is getting strong.

American or British?
I'm not getting into this again. Anyone who is interested in the pups i have shown in earlier pics can look up my ad on LA Sportsman under same user name and contact me directly and decide for themselves whether they are worth the price. I have paperwork do back up all of their genetics, pedigree, lineage, registration, etc. If someone wants to pay what the big name breeders out of state are asking and get on a waiting list for months, then that is fine. If someone is looking for a hunting dog with great lineage locally (in BR), a companion, or wonderful pet for their kid's Christmas then they can find me via other means. Anyone is welcome to come check out the pups and mom first hand, and I can make arrangements to see the dad and then they can make decisions based on that. Merry Christmas

The British versus American argument is a valid one but to think that British versus American has any affect on value is asinine

I’m interested in started dog pricing too. I’m probably a year or two out, but want to start looking around to get myself refreshed on the duckdog game. Been out of it for a while. Mind if I send you a note as well?

Go for it. Happy to answer from my experiences

Dude you obviously aren’t interested in contributing to this board other than making a sale on your puppies. You don’t even really engage in the convo, every post is an immediate segway into your ad for sale. You are in direct violation of tigerdrippings rules. This isn’t the shithole lasportsman forums.

My daughter has taken to photography, she took over 200 pics this past weekend and that was one of my favorites. This one ain’t to bad either.

Since there are so many questions it seems.
I’m not going to give out their pricing on a forum.
But, Wildrose does not sell started or finished dogs. They used to. Their dogs are strictly their dogs. They do note breed outside other than a handful of imports from the uk. All their dogs are pure British with all the papers. Most puppies actually have a parent that was actually born and trained in the UK. They now make you take the puppy at 7 weeks old. You then bring the puppy back at 7 months old to start gundog training if you want. The training lasts 6-9 months and most dogs go about 7 months.
The do not use shock collars or force fetch. They do hold train though.
Their goal at the end of gundog training is
1. Complete obedience at home, in the field, at work, in the store, bar, etc.
2. You can hunt the dog in almost any scenario.
3. They are whistle trained, casting back and side to side, they do multiples and multiple blinds in water and land, they hunt cover, they’re steady and honor when hunting with other dogs, deliver to hand, ride in the boat, truck, airplane(yeah mine flys) m, etc.
Example: I can bring my dog to a dog park filled with ridiculously untrained animals running around. I can sit him down in a corner and walk away for an hour and he will not move. Like someone said earlier, he’d probably starve before coming off place
and I’m not going to lie. He did test me when he got home. I was new to him and I had to establish that again. Wildrose trainers were on the phone with me daily with updates and suggestions for how to fix little things he was doing. Took about a month to lock him in to me. It’s a little unnerving though when you go to visit your dog after he’s been up there for 5 months and he doesn’t even look at you let alone care who you are because he’s so locked into his trainer. After that first month home though, he’s now line that with me now. He couldn’t give 2 fricks about anyone or anything else going on around him. He’s locked onto me.
That being said it is pure British training methods, and that means he doesn’t always run through the brick wall. In fact most the time he problem solves too much and goes around and hunts with his nose and eyes. When he hunts cover he is a god damned machine. He loves it more than anything. And it is the situation where I get the absolute best reactions out of him. If I send him in cover and he veers, I hit that whistle he is like a god damned statue looking for my help, he knows I know where the bird is. You can literally see him working out the lost bird with my help, it’s amazing. he obeys casting more directly in cover too. If it is open and he knows where the dummy or bird is he can be a little stubborn at times, but in the end he’s still a puppy and that’s the difference between a started and finished dog.

My main stud, Remi, will turn 9 years old in December and is still hunting hard. The british labs are absolute hunting machines, and they double as a great pets. You don't find that nearly as often in the American lines. Rem is laying down under my desk as I type. The last picture is him in the middle, his son is the white lab, and one of my other ones is the other fox red. British labs are without a doubt the way to go.

Accidentally downvoted, but agreed. Dudes thread get whacked and he jumps in here with same crap.

Some context -I very hesitantly started the thread yesterday mentioning my british lab pups being for sale ONLY because i saw someone else mentioning some other pups that were being whelped soon. I even phrased the start of the thread nearly verbatim the way the other guy did so as to sound helpful rather than a sales pitch. Somehow i missed the tigerdroppings bi-law that allowed for sale/marketing of Boykin pups (see thread on next page) vs black british labs. Had know idea TD was so political and played favorites to that that degree. The sarcasm and piling on when someone who isnt a regular poster posts something somewhat informative is what keeps a lot of other knowledgable and helpful folks from interacting. I hope everyone continues enjoying their dogs, hunting season, and has a Merry Christmas and i apologize for whatever feathers have been ruffled in the process. On a positive note - this great British Lab thread got started and got some other folks interested in some awesome dogs!

BUt srsly, how did y’all get around the restricted registration thing? Just wondering. And they are good looking dogs.

And the OB is usually a very welcoming place, but you did kinda come across as a dick. Stick around. It’ll get better.

There is no restricted registation on my dog (dame), nor for the sire for breeding. I asked my buddy (owner of the sire) about it and he directly addressed this with Robert Milner at Duckhill. The main reason he went with him over Wildrose was because he did not put a restriction on breeding on the registration. I'm assuming AKC checked this out referencing the original registration of both dame and sire before allowing the registration of my litter.
