I’m interested in started dog pricing too

Wide range of prices there. I have seen some all the way upwards of $4K to as little as $1,500. I think the dogs trainers work with for the exclusive act of selling as a Started dog are the ones that go upwards of $3K. However these dogs are going to be legit Started dogs with the potential to easily move into the Finished dog category easily. The $2K and less dogs are more than likely going to be the personally owned dogs that may or may not have been trained by a pro. They are usually sold because the owner doesn't have the time to hunt them, are a wash-out as a field trial dog, has some quirk that gets on the owners nerves, or the owner is in a bind for cash.

The one good thing about buying a Started dog is you get to test drive essentially a somewhat finished product. You can't do that with a puppy. You can see what the dog can or can't do before pulling the trigger. The down side is it's quite a bit of money up front and you also miss out on that puppy bonding experience.

We are the list for Deke / Pippa puppies due in May. Can you share pictures of your pup? Insights you can share?

Here is my wildrose offspring...Lady Magdalene "Maggie." 8 years old. She just started to slow down. This is my wife's first dog ever and is completely spoiled because of it.
